And if he should have "waxed my ***" shouldn't he still have pulled a lot even short shifting?

Also, my friend with a catback intake 04 cobra hardtop, ran a 13.4@110 two months earlier at the same track i got a 13.2@108. I don't understand why this is so hard to believe, I have two cars, one heavier stock and one with mods....one would beat me, the other didn't. Cars in Arizona don't run magazine or east coast times.

but whatever maybe all the cobras i know are slow and have retarded drivers, I'll take my lucky wins.

Don't take it personal man, everyone just seems to think ALL Cobra's, regardless of their driver, run mid 12's trapping 112+ bone stock. Even the 3800lb verts are UNTOUCHABLE by any lowly LSx vehicle

What they fail to understand is in AZ the DA is never much lower than 2500 and about 90% of the time its 90+ degrees outside. Thats not friendly to ANY forced induction car, especially a roots blown car.

Just to give you guys an example, I've seen upper/lower ported blower cobra's on DR's running bottom 12's (11.9-12.1) @ 117-119, in those same conditions I just pointed out.

not all stock 03 cobras run mid 12's sorry, not saying they cant just 90% of the ones ive seen the drivers arent anywhere near mid 12's.

 

yea i had a same encounter where my friend had like 10 grand into his 03 and i still got him on by a nose in my 02 z28 with a CAI. i was amazed. he sucks at driving and i had a passenger, he didn't. I believe you. i have been there.

lmfao, I love these threads. Is it me or is it always the guys with the lid, catback cars talking about beating Cobra's? Then the driver mod **** gets thrown around cause all Cobra drivers are the suck it appears.

lol, these threads crack me up. I run low 12's (should be high elevens by the end of next week) and ill admit im scared of cobras there badass cars, if a lid only z is beatin a cobra a driver mod is defintly reqiured.

A race from 30-130/140 is long enough to where if hes right next to me the entire time, a driver mod is pretty much negated. unless hes shifting 1k short ...which didnt seem to be the case. hey look at that our trans are geared the same..yet he has 3.55s to my 3.42s so...yet his redline is higher...so when we shifted near the same time...he was basically wrapping out as much rpm as he could..hmmm.

 

no kidding...10 grand is more like 700+ rwhp...he must've had a missing arm and leg or something.

 

Bullshit. I have less than 10 grand in my car and I'm over 650rwhp and closer to 700 and my seven year old nephew could beat a CAI LS1 in my Cobra.

 

Look dude, whatever reason you won...good kill. I never doubted the kill from the beginning. Cobras are badazz cars and underated at the factory. With the same bolt ons as you he could be in the low 12's, So there is always people who are gonna be, should I say skeptical, shouldn't take away from your kill though.
