i understand the dead spot they have, but if the car has no chance unless you can either launch at 6k+ rpms, or its already going 50 mph then i would never want to own one. but they are good looking when tastefully modded.

Well whether you buy a car or not shouldn't rest on what cars it can beat in a street race first off. People buy S2000s because they like driving them. But if you do want to street race, you need to be around 6,000rpm. Which means either a dig, ~25mph, ~45-50mph, or ~75mph.

If you're looking at buying a sports car, that's probably not going to be first on your list. There are other cars that are better suited to street racing from a dig, but the S2000 is great at what it was designed for.

It amazes me why people say other cars are slow when their cars are modded. Torque had nothing to do with the outcome of the race. Moreso than your modification that are done to your car. Stock for stock, you are about even.

I usually make a list of cars I can beat while I am shopping for a new one. Who cares what it looks like, gas mileage and such I wana know what can it beat in a street race.

Well performance of a vehicle and what cars it can beat on the "street" are interrelated. Most street races aren't from a dig anyway. I'm not talking about s2k's or any car in particular. You said people shouldn't buy a car based on what it can beat on the street. But I disagree, performance and your budget are the two things I think most gear heads, if you will, look at.

i agree and also its potential when modded, because how many of us are gunna keep a car stock, looks and comfort come last on the list for me. I want a fast car, that will be reliable and easy to mod up to higher power levels with cheap modifications.

Don't be mad cuz you had to do full bolt-ons, a cam, and a stall to run 12.4 @ 112mph . You can throw the "what ifs" and "next times" at me all you want, but till you go back to the track you run the number in your signature. And RED94, if you're going to attempt to make a joke, atleast use the right numbers; 6,000-9,000rpm.
