Talking Ricer that works at CarMax

I went to CarMax tonight in my old Mercury Mystique to be appraised so I can sell it to them ($500 is all they offered, but hey, it's 9 yrs old with 170,000)....so I'm killing time by talking to some of the younger kids that work there.

I tell the kid helping me that I'm selling my old car because I just got a T/A WS6 vert....blah, blah, blah. He told me his dad has a silver Z06 that he gets to drive sometimes...blah, blah, blah.....So we end up talking to this other kid who's chilling in a golfcart. We're talking cars a little bit and he says he's a typical ricer.

I said really, what do you drive?

He said a Civic Si that has a lot of work done to it. He said it has a 150 shot on it that adds 150 hp.

I said cool, what did you run at the track?

He said 10.8!

I said....10.8.....wow....that's pretty fast. What size turbo do you have on there?

He said...no turbo...it's an Si with a VTEC controller, heads...blah, blah, blah.

I said...how did you run a 10.8 without a massive turbo plus a 150 shot?

He gave me more mods that just didn't make sense.....

Oh...then he told me that around town he only runs an 80 shot (why not a typical 75 shot...I don't know) and he beats lightnings and vettes and Mustangs (who doesn't ).........blah, blah, blah.

Thankfully, my salesman comes back telling me they're finished with the appraisal...........I was about to start drilling this kid. I wanted to ask him what time he got off work and if he'd like to race a totally stock T/A.

As I'm walking back with my salesman...I said....have you ever seen that kids car?

He said...yeah...he's got a lot of work done to it....it's pretty quick.

I said...he told me that he ran a 10.8.

He said...really? He never told me that. I've been in it...and it's nowhere near that fast...I've been in a 10 second car and you couldn't grab a $20 bill taped to the dash.....no way.

I said....that kid's got problems...

Oh well...there is always tomorrow when I go to actually sell my old car!! Maybe I'll have to head home and pick up the TA and check out his 10 second Si

Damn Fast and the Furious.........that movie has polluted kid's minds!

Sorry it wasn't a kill.........but just too damn funny!

I liked the story. I think you're lucky to get $500 at a dealer for that car, no joke. Atleast ya got a WS6 now.

Lol, it's so much fun to sit down with my friends that actually know half a dick about cars and pick that movie apart. Truely one of the best comedies of our time.

Thanks for the compliment. yep that is what me and a few of my friends did too SM. there is so many mistakes in that movie it is horrible, but god it sure is funny. i like when he said to the guy in the jetta, dont race the honda, he has a $100,000 under the hood. if i had that much money, i wouldnt have a s2000, nor a slow *** car!

if you've got $100,000 under the hood, you damn well better be running REAL 10s... unlike the cars in that movie, where everybody thought they were already running 10s. "if we lengthen the injector pulse by 2 milliseconds, that should fix your problem of unloading in 5th. you'll run 9s."

actually, with $100,000 invested in the engine alone, i would be dissapointed if it wasn't kicking out four digit horsepower before you even consider nitrous.
