So, on Friday afternoon, I needed to make a trip to Academy to get some gun oil. Well as i am pulling onto the street where my apt is, a Termi drives by and kind of throttle pops it. I almost skeeted my pants when i heard the whine (so sexxxy!!) well didnt think ne thing of it and continued on my way. Had school that night and got off at about 10. As i am turning onto that same street, the Termi drives by again. This time im like **** it, and i kinda just follow him. We hit a light, and i told him to pull over at the Wendys so we could chat. I told him he had a sick *** cobra, and asked him if it was stock. He just laughed and told me no. He said it was a stage 4 ported blower, headers with x pipe, 373 gears. said he had nos, but it wasnt hooked up. uh oh, im only bolt ons i told him i would run him just for shitz and gigglez and that i know his car is about to rape my poor little N/A motor. he just laughs and says sure why not. So we head towards George Bush. We agreed on a 50 punch. PRIME for my 2nd gear pull. i let him honk it off becuase well, i need some kind of advantage.

First race... i could tell he wanted me to take the hit, but i like a fair race, so i wait to hear his engine before i even punch it. to my suprise, in second gear it was a perfect even battle. When we shifted in to third, he got about a car to 2 cars on me.

Second Race. Same exact thing

Third Race. he told me he wanted a 70 punch, because we hadnt hit 4th yet. so we do, he honks it off, and 3rd gear he grabs about 1-1.5 cars, but when 4th gear comes, OMG that cars 4th gear was a mean bitch!! it took off from 100-130 and gained another 2 busses??? it was bad.


Of course i knew i would get beat and it was a fun race until that car hit 4th, and then i went, dam i need h/c/i ROFL...


CLIFFS: stage4 ported cobra gets ~1.5 cars on me from 50-100
Then we go from 70-130, and when cobra hits 4th gear, it puts a few busses

I would have done the same thing. It doesn't always matter if you win or not, its just fun to get a run in. The cobras just put the rest of us at a big disadvantage.

Did he have a pulley on it as well or just the ported blower? I've never heard of somebody doing that

 

Im sure it was pullied to, most of the time when people ask me what i have done i dont think to say pullied since the its ported most people just know, but hell its possible. I've heard of a few guys sticking with the stock upper and still getting a port!

i owe the parents 1.5k still cuz the tranny went out 2 weeks ago. and i still owe 3.5k on it. so once i owe NOTHING, yes it will deff get H/C/I!!!

A respectable death! You'd need a strong H/C/I setup to think about keeping up with a ported blower Cobra, and even then you'll likely get beat (pending driver mods for both of you). There are VERY few H/C/I 346 LS1s putting down 500+ rwhp but pretty much all of the ported Cobras do well over that. And with a decent driver, they show all 500+.

i watching cobras with ported blowers on youtube and I havent seen a video yet with one making less than 450. hahaha

 

Pullied Cobra's alone make 450 rwhp.

Its insane the hp/dollar ratio... if I was more into Fords I'd deff get one.

 

Good deaths OP. 4th does pull pretty good in these cars. 3rd is a weird gear IMO. 2nd hits almost 80 and 3rd does 100 or so. . 4th seems to pull harder than 3rd as it is a long gear and takes advantage of the Eatons torque curve.
