Shaniqua is the name of my car btw ...
Okay, I'm driving home last night around 8pm doing about 55mph in 6th gear, and out of nowhere my car starts shuttering and i hear a horrid noise coming from the transmission/driveshaft/rear end. It sounded like a baseball card stuck in the spokes of a bike tire ... but with metal.
When pulling down a side road (didn't want to stay on the side of a main highway) I noticed that it would drive okay at a steady speed (say 10mph in first gear), but if I let off the gas the noise would come back again.
I originally figured it was either my driveshaft or rear end that I had broken, but why would it go at such a random time I was thinking. Either way, I had it towed to the garage.
Well, after an uneasy night last night ... I went down to the shop today and took a look at it. Ended up that I blew up my driveshaft u-joint. Apparently my driveshaft was out of balance pretty bad also, which one of the doofs there attributed to hard hole shots.
So, a u-joint and some balancing and shes back on the road ...
Cliff notes:
1 - Driving home from work = broke car.
2 - Problem = driveshaft u-joint.
3 - Replaced u-joint and balanced = car fixed.
4 - Me = Happy it wasn't the rear end.

BigBronco you know just how to make me laugh. yeah i loved the fact that it looks like the 16year old girl v6 special. the only way they can tell its an ls1 is the fromual tag under the bump gard on the door and the 6 speed (if they see it in a parking lot). but yet i do want to do somthing to the exterrior. i have an oz racing lancer arifoil and im looking for a trans am rear hatch that i can try to model a notch back hatch off of. remanisent of the 89 gta notch backs. if not at least i have a smooth (non air foil) hatch to mount the air foil to.

And I'm looking into 12 bolts as we speak ... having the driveshaft go made me realize that the rear is definately going sometime soon (especially with 4:10's).
