04 vs 05 GTO almost stock
my car is an 04 m6 with 3mods.(look at my sig) my buddy in the 05 m6 had a k&n intake. he just got his car and we wanted to test it out. (against the smaller goat) we started at a 10mph roll i had him by half a car after the 3rd horn and i started creeping away slowly til about 80mph then we started slowing down.
so we got onto an interstate and did a 50mph roll, after the 3rd horn again i was up by almost a whole car in front of him we raced til about 130mph the whole time i was up front almost a whole car it was pretty good for me anyway. but the thing is i'm not so intimidated by almost STOCK 6.0's anymore.
AND i have never seen a gto with the badge embroidered into the floor mat inside the trunk. how many cars came with that?

we dont know anything else though, like if the other guy weighs 500lbs and tuscanyls1 weighs 83lbs. that would affect the outcome as well.

Yea, just .3 liters....
OP, good kill but I don't foresee this happening again once your buddy has some more seat time.

The 5K difference in price will easily let you round out your bolt-on package and then slap on a nice heads/cam package. I don't think he'll give you much trouble with you have 100 more rwhp than him, lol. Of course if I were him then I'd toss on an N2o kit at that point...ahh, the joys of friendly competition and modding up

the money you save picking up the LS1 over the 05/06 LS2 models you could prolly buy a decent set of heads and cam which is why I picked up the 04 vs the LS2 models. I figured I'm going to mod the car anyway and once the heads come off it's anyones games. (however I still have stock heads ) But the tune saved you, if the LS2 had a tune it would have been very different.

Good kill, i finally got to see an 04 GTO run this passed Friday night. He went up against a Nismo 350Z. Idk how the 1st run turned out as they ran em down the road, GTO won and the 2nd run which they ran back this way. GTO won again but the Nismo was about a car length right behind the GTO. GTO sounded stock. Nismo didnt sound very modded at all either.
Not sure if GTO was A4 or M6 though. Nismo was standard. Both runs were from a dig.
