Default raced a 2010 SS

On the highway saw a new 2010 SS. Didn't think much of it as its such an expensive car I figure its an older dude who won't race. Come up next to it and see some kid who looks like he just started to grow hair on his nuts. He immediately downshifts and bucks the car. He is giving me the eyeball of "you want some of this!" There are no cars in sight so we slow down enough that I can shift it into high 2nd gear, around 4K something rpm. I do the 3 honk deal and go ***** deep. By 4th he is a little more than a full car behind me and im still ever so slightly pulling. He then starts to quickly fade ( prolly put his brakes on ). I let off and keep cruising, he stays real far back. I was hoping to go again but oh well : ]

I have a 02 Z28 with lid and catback.

Nice kill. I wish I could find one to race. I've only seen a couple SS's on the road so far. But, wasn't in my car either times. Maybe I'll get a shot sometime soon though.

Holyshet that's sad on his part. Wow. I knew they would be bad from a roll when you see mid 11 times but only sub 120 traps @ 500rwhp. Ouch.

Nice kill btw.

Your car has just a lid? And beat the new camaro ss? Am I missing something about your car here?

Good kill. Weight, street, and a green owner, very believable. I am on the fence with these cars. Something keeps me from liking them all the way though. But hell, I hated the 4th gen when it came out.LOL

Nice kill, but I figured he would have pulled on you going by what those cars are trapping bone stock.

anything can happen in the street but... I have a hard time with this having driven one with less than 45miles on it (auto) and it felt as fast if not faster than my truck going 13.0's with the stock converter back in it. And on the move it was waaaay faster than my truck (shouldn't be surprised look at their trap speeds..)
btw weight kills it from a stop, on the roll much less of a factor.

Have you ever been to thentrack with your car?
just read it again, sorry, can't see you pulling away like that. can you find him again and do it on video? lol

We don't know what gear the SS driver shifted down to or at what speed, we don't know how fast or slow he shifts, we don't know if he had four dead bodies in the trunk, take your pick of the scenarios. The fact is, although on a track with two great drivers the new SS probably would take the OP's car top end, we have no idea what the details of this race were.

Weight hurts a LOT from a roll, actually. Consider how much of a difference a 150 pound passenger can make (1+ cars from a roll), nevermind the extra 400-500 pounds that SS has on the OP. That said, they do typically trap faster than the OP probably should, but like I said above, we don't know all the factors.

Nice kill, OP.

I had one next to my hummer acting like he had a 10sec ride on his hands. flooring it and letting off next to me like he wanted to race a sloooowww hummer. I don't drive my t.a to work or I would of let him know how slow his 13sec car is.looser. Nice kill. start modding for the next in line.

yea im sorry but... there already going 13.0@111mph burning the tires off for a good 2 seconds... i dont see you just pulling one when all you got is a lid. he must have been short shifting or something. those cars are faster than you from a roll or a dig lol. i gurantee yu there wil be some 12.6 to 12.7 ones once some people who can drive get them. 13.0@111 is a bad time for those cars in my mind. i belive there is a lot more left in them.

Are those the mag times (done with GPS timing equipment) or actual track times? So far the track times i've seen have failed to run those traps... I have seen a 13.0x but the trap was under 110 is memory serves. If you guys have other information I dont please post up.

Ive been seeing a orange 2010 SS around. i gave him rev in traffic the other day. He had his windows down and music turned up. He thought he was cool. Which he kinda was with that SS. im sure he heard the true duals. He didnt pay any attention to me and hung back. i would have loved to see it run.

Just go to Cordova some Friday night. "Uncle" Robin Lawrence is there every Friday I believe. It's bone stock on drag radials. But, I believe his best run so far, is still only a 12.96@108-109.
