C6 goes down
Last nite I was on my way across town to pick up my daughter from her moms house. I had just turned off my street onto the main drag hoping to catch the next light- but as luck would have it it turned yellow right as I turned out. As I'm sitting at the light I look up ahead about 150 yards and see what looks like the tell-tale tail lights of a Vette parked on the side of the road. I think nothing more of it- light turns green and I proceed. As soon as I get past the car I hear a roar and sure enough- it's a Vette. As he gets closer I was able to get as closer look and sure enough it's a Burgandy Red C6!! He gets next to me Revs and drops the hammer. I didn't flinch....but that thing sounded BEASTLY. He slows back down and we pace each other at about 40. I down shift to second and give him the nod- I tell him to go ahead I'll hit it when you do. He immediately slams the throttle and I do the same. He jumped out about 3/4 of a car because of the hit. I hit the top of 2nd and we're side by side- 3rd I start walking pretty hard by about 2-1/2 cars I hit 4th and get about another car and a half. Mid 4th we shut it down. I slowed down to the speed limit so I could give him a thumbs up but he took the next turn.....oh well- all in all I'm pretty stoked. This is the first "race" I've had with the Z and I'm pretty happy with the outcome. Hopefully next week when I get my Fast 92 and new tune I'll have some better numbers.
