Default my MS3 01 SS vs 03 Ported/pullied Cobra

had a local car cruise yesterday afternoon and I got my buddy to show up with his Cobra...mods are...

Ported Eaton blower, pullied (12psi), SLP loudmouth exhaust, twin disc clutch (forgot what kind) bigger heat exchanger etc...car put down 504rwhp in 40* weather last fall.

My car is a 01 Camaro SS with a 01 LS1 long block from GM that was installed 7 months ago brand new. Car put down 351rwhp/355rwtq with just Hooker long tubes and pacesetter Y pipe and LM1 exhaust...then I added a MS3 cam (112 lsa) etc and had it dyno tuned....I have a ram powergrip HD clutch, ported throttle body, stock intake manifold, stock 241 heads, stock 3.42 10 bolt, Stock SLP catback exhaust (took LM1 off, way too loud with the cam)....my car trapped 116 off a idle and bogging on its face....he hasnt been back to the track yet with his ported blower and new clutch but before the blower port it was trapping 116-117

http://s110.photobucket.com/albums/n...t=100_3947.flv

went from a 65 roll to about 150. He shut down at 150 with about a 1.5-2 car length lead on me...the Vette is my other buddys car. 99 FRC 6 spd..all it has is a intake..

heres a little chase video...

I have another local friend that has a pullied Cobra (465rwhp) and were a dead even race...he actually hangs at my bumper until about 130 then he starts creeping by me

I posted that video up about a month ago, just do a search on my name in this thread.....

Nice runs! I've pulled several pullied 03/04's with my Vindicator-cam'd '99 FRC. It's a good feeling.

You need 4.10s man. But good death. Why is he only running 12 psi? Shouldn't a ported blower use more boost?

I'm thinking the 12psi boost is a mistake.. I'd figured it'd be doing atleast 16

Its worth it man. It was a huge difference when I was near stock, let alone doing it to a large cam'd car.

No i ported blower doesnt add boost, it raises the crappy efficiency of the unported blower.
But according to stigemeier(the one who ports them) it doesnt raise the boost.

Well if it increases the efficiency....shouldn't the owners add more boost? I mean, might as well if you spent all that cash on a port job. 12 psi is stock isn't it? idk much about cobras though...

No I used to own an 03 Cobra. And it makes 8 psi STOCK. And porting the blower doesn't add boost...it increases the efficiency as someone already stated. The extra boost comes from the swapped pully. Stock I believe is a 3.2 inch and the 12 psi pully is a 2.8 inch.

I didn't know it was 8 psi stock. I know of the 2.8 pulley (my tuners car has that pulley), but I didn't know that is what made the 12 psi. Learn something new every day. So the 2.69 pulley makes 17 psi or so?

Damn, you guys have some nice cars.
Did you do the work yourself or did you go to a local shop?
When I had my 98 Z28, I got a lot of work done at Redline, but they are kind of full of themselves (wouldn't do pacesetter's, only hooker's).

We should chill sometime.
