Chalk one up for the ls1, My bolt on T/A vs. H/C 4v
Went to this car meet tonight and I ended up running a 99-04 M5 GT with a 4v swap. The kid was pretty cocky and practically laughed when I mentioned my car to him. I don't know what his exact mod list is but he had 4.30's, and put heads and cams in it during the swap and all your bolt ons and Drag Radials. I think it wasn't the 99 or 01 engine but an 03 without the blower. He said it made like 340 rwhp. My T/A: a4 3.23 gear, lpp headers, 3 inch Y, and magnaflow catback with a bench tune. He wanted to see the engine bay because he didn't believe thats all it had done or else I wouldn't want to even try. After a while he agreed to head out.
Dig race: Had him by 1.5 cars then he missed a gear.
30-90 roll: Me by a fender
50 roll: Me inching him slowly till he let out at like 100
When we stopped to talked he said it was back and forth?? He was NEVER in front of me on any of the races. lmfao. Anyways I thought it was funny, why did he even waste his money on those heads and cams.

That's a good Question.....a properly combined 4V should be 350+ with HCI And with 4.30s in the weight of that GT, he should have easily been a high 11 car. Most likely, his shift points sucked ***. The mach motor makes power differently with higher redline, etc. Most guys shift at redline, or short shift (GT swap guys) not knowing the powerband. Not taking anything from your kill, just givin' you some info.
Nice kill. I love to hear about cocky SOB's goin' down....not matter what they drive.

See the thing is that my friend has a 01 cobra with 4.30's and full bolt on's and I lost by 1/2-1 car. I don't know if the 03 motor has lower compression for the blower or what but I know for sure my friends car edges me out everytime. It may be driver cause I know my friends takes his out to 7k and powershifts. Thats why his tranny is blown right now and he is putting in a c4.

03-04 cobra motors have 8.5:1CR
03-04 Machs have 10.:1
99/01 Cobra's have 9.85:1
If he put a terminator motor in there without the blower, there's only two things I can think of for future setup A) running a 200+shot or B) turbo.
your friend will get some nice ET's out of it, but yeah, he'll do some damage. He shouldn't shift every gear at 7k though IMO. He should look up the gearing of his T45/3650.
