Good runs with ported blower Cobra (vid)
Well, about 3 ½ years ago I got my cam installed. The car made good power, I had beaten a few cars, and I was feeling pretty good about it. Then I ran into a ported blower/pullied 2004 Cobra. This was the result:

Well, I hadn’t heard from the kid or seen the car since then and I didn’t think much of it. That is until PSM ran into a white 2004 Cobra with the same mods…and the kid happened to remember running a red LS1 Z28 a while back that ran pretty good. Here’s PSM’s experience:

Well, I definitely wanted a rematch with the car now that I have my N2O kit working good. We gave him a ring yesterday and he agreed to come out and line them up. We went from 3rd gear rolls (60-65 mph starts) because he had crap tires and I wanted it to be a fair race.
Here are the results:

In the last race I let off before the top of 4th because there was a car up ahead and I didn’t want to get too close and have the driver freak out. I think it would have stayed right where it was without me pulling more and without him catching me.
Also, there was a passenger in both cars for all three races.
Cliff's Notes for people at work:
-1st race was from 65ish to the top of 4th (125+). I was on a 125 shot. We both hit it and I pulled about 2 cars on the Cobra.
-2nd race was from 60ish to the top of 4th (125+). I was on the 100 shot. He never heard the honks and I got a huge jump and pulled out a couple cars. Not really a good win since it wasn't nearly an even start.
-3rd race from from 60ish to partway through 4th (110+ due to a car up ahead). I was on the 100 shot. We both hit it and I pulled out a 1/2 car early and once we got into 4th the pull stopped and appeared that we were going to hanging there with me a 1/2 car up.
After the first race I changed the jets from the 125 to the 100 because we were trying to make it as good a race as possible.
Very fun races, and the guy was as cool as I remember. I fear that my victory will be short lived, however, as he’s currently finishing up how own N2O install. And the cycle continues…

Not sure on his trap speed, I don't think he's had it to the track yet, but I went 124.3 mph on the 100 shot.
Yeah, I wasn't sure on that. Fixed
Thanks guys!

In the video I'm posting up with my car, there was only one passenger with the camera that kept swapping between the two (fourth person had to leave).

That looks like a badass setup you have there!
Haven't gotten it on the dyno with the N2O yet. The HSW kits are rated at the ground, so I think around 500 on the 100 shot.

nice runs i would think on a 100 shot you should still pull him i would assume you guys make similar power you at around 515 and the cobra the same and the camaros lighter. but who cares nice runs with two fast cars

Thanks!
The Cobra has some weight reduction so I think the cars are similar weight wise with a slight edge possibly going to me. The power should be close, but I wouldn't be suprised if the Cobra had me beat by a bit on the 100 shot. With the current setup he dynoed 487 on a Mustang dyno, but with the same setup 3 years ago he put down 527 on a different Mustang dyno, so who knows.

NXPRSS, definitely! I use to put my car away in the winter, but then we kept getting seasons where there wasn't really any snow until like January, so I just keep it on the road all the time (don't drive it in bad weather though). We'll have to get a few people together for a cruise some time. I wouldn't mind getting pulled by a badass blower car!
