Ever noticed that most of the people that spout off all of the ricer comments have slow cars?

Good kill. I like the way those new Civics look. With all the technology out there these days and a strong aftermarket, it's no suprise that there are fast ones.

That's what he tells himself so when he picks on stock Civic he feels like a badass

Yep You hit it on the head with that one. I have a slow car. I dont have a portion of the money in my car that you might have in your and if i didnt have traction issues That stock SS would out run a Stock evo. its easy to get a awd drive to hook and go. You just need a real car and stop waistin your money

Rice to me has always meant imports that have more money put into their body kit than performance. Cars that "look" fast, but aren't. I wouldn't call the Cobalt SS rice by any means. Just because it's a 4cyl and is boosted doesn't mean it's rice..

Absolutely. Thats the way it is. They usually are pretty young too.

I don't think it has to be an import. "Rice" just means that its a car with untasteful body modifications, with nothing under the hood. A Camaro, or Mustang can be considered "rice" too. Rice is an overly used term however, and I am so sick of hearing it.

Well "Rice" originally stood for imports from the asian market. Hence the term "rice burner" But yes, people call any car that has more body mods than anything else. But I agree about the over-usage of the word.

Good kill OP, I think the same. I understand the underdog thing, but there are some better starting point.

190whp stock?? I highly doubt that. I'll guess 160-170rwhp max!

At least its clear that his only mod is exhaust...

Yeah, my SS with H/C/I with a little spray beats up on a shitload on the road on a regular. Every modded car can beat a stock car...

Nitrous is a very good idea on those car because that makes up for the non existent torque. But I would fear for engine damage going higher than 50shot.

I would get a SRT4 caliber or hell even a neon SRT4 way before this car for a cheap 4 doors choice. Cobalt SS is 260hp, Mazdaspeed 3 270hp; Always trailing on power and still selling cars, those Hondas are fun

Stroked honda engine, so what it has .1 liter more, big deal

Can a juiced stock si beat a stock ss, prob not, they are high 14 sec cars to start with, even with the 100 shot they are still down at least 70-80lbs of torque

A honda engine is pretty much the worst of both worlds, all of the lag of a turbo with none of the power

hahahah..sig material right there!

I'm with you. You need a load of power to run 12s in a FWD car, and it needs more than a ''little'' shot to be out of 13s.

Not really you can reach 12s in 280whp cobalts, but they also pack at least 250lbs of torque at that power level also

Normally I don't back the ricer, as I hate Hondas with a passion... But I know one kid in town that has a stripped 95 Civic Coupe (2000lbs raceweight) with a high compression LS VTEC & turbo on it @ 14psi... and it is actually pretty quick.. All comes back to power/weight ratio

I would not consider Cobalts "rice" by any means. They are an awesome invention by GM... 2.0L making 260hp at the crank by a turbo? Hell yes! Stage 2 it and keep the factory warranty (like I did with my dad's 07 Solstice GXP) and you have 290hp/340tq... cars with potential, needless to say

Car won't be like this for long
and you dont think its ridiculous to have a "built" blown mustang only make 400 rwhp?

Sorry, I don't have any vids. I'll figure out how to take them with my cell and post them up.

I've never run it at the track, but similar trucks run low 12's. My setup is pretty common in the diesel community. Just twins/injectors/supporting mods. For twins in series, that is a normal amount of boost. The turbo's would still be in their efficiency range if I ran more boost, but then you run the risk of blowing stuff up (ie. head gasket). I could run a larger single turbo and make more power with less boost, but it would take forever and day to spool. Twins spool fast =)

I'd say ridiculous. Most built and blown Mustangs make well over that.
