Talking Beat down a ricer with my mom in the car

My mom is 56 years old and love muscle cars - my dad broke her in good with that (he was the king of redneck hotrods - 72 datsun pickup with a 500hp smallblock, etc). Anyway, we were heading out to grab some lunch on sunday when i get behind some primer gray shitbox CRX - $2000 rims, $100 car type deals. He's staring thru the rearview constantly blipping the throttle, and i told my mom that I couldnt resist, i had to hand him a beat down, and she gives me the go ahead. So when the light changes, we are turning left onto a 3 lane road, he gets in the far right, i get in the far left, I look over and he nails it, i put it to the floor and get squirrelly, had a buslength on him before i went to second. At this point, my mom said the funniest thing i have heard in a while.

"Damn son, his car sounds like a broke sewing machine. Tell him to take that thing home, I think its out of thread".

Classic.

It would be cool to hear your mom say that

What kind of car were you in? Not that it matters.

Wanna here something sad? When I was in high school about 16 years ago I really liked the CRX SI. It was a fun car to drive. That was in the mid 80's when a car with 225 advertised hp was considered fast. I am glad I left the darkside and came over to the LS1.

Is the 225hp car specfically the 5.0 'stang?
I lived thru those dark ages too.
