Camaro still as plenty of room for power. They are nearly 4,000 lbs so even if it has a higher power rating than the Vette, it will most likely not be faster. In all honesty I think the LS3/9/7/A is the end of traditional LS motors. They will be switching to direct injection, smaller displacement but still pushrod motors. A 3900lb camaro would need nearly 540hp to match the power to weight of a 3200lb 436hp Vette.

It's going to take a few mods to make a 4th gen take a stock 2011 GT. Considering that it's probably faster than a stock 5th gen.

Man it sure did get quiet in here! No more 2011 GT haters....hmmm
Anyways here is alittle more I found.

Anyways here is alittle more I found.
Journalists alternately lined up to drive both cars trying different launch techniques, and when the dust settled, every scribe to a man (and woman) had a fistful of timeslips to prove that the Mustang was faster—and by a substantial margin. Yeah, even the Mexicans, who had no “horse” in the race. My best ET in the Camaro was an 8.82 at 83 mph—which turned out to be one of the best for the day. Not bad, but in the Mustang, I managed an 8.62 at 86 mph. In the theoretical quarter-mile—and given the traction limitations of the airport’s untreated surface (and no water and no burnouts allowed)—that’s roughly 13.80 for the Camaro and 13.50 for the Mustang. Other journalists faired similarly. But the plot thickens.

I actually love the rear of the 2010. Now I think the rear of the 2005 looks stupid. After seeing the front of the 2010 the front looks stupid too. lol
There is nothing I don't like about the 2011 Mustang!

I don't think either are ugly. I think the 10/11 model of the GT looks better than the 05-09. I always liked the looks of the NewEdge body style over the 05-09. But I like the 10/11 body style even better than that. It looks as if they took the best of the newedge and the 05+ stangs and mashed them together. It looks more modern now, and less "retro" than the 05-09.
As far as the new Camaro goes, It doesn't look UGLY.. but I don't like the rear all that well. A lowered 5th gen looks really hot IMHO. It makes the car look completely different IMHO.

Judging by what I'm reading though about the new 5.0, I had better start modding or my buddy is going to rub that **** in my face, and I'd bet my *** he WILL buy one now that 5.0 is back. Good move on blue ovals part

I've never really put stock fourth gen and stock 2v in the same category really. The new Camaro may actually have a CHANCE against the '11 GT, (not a great one maybe lol) wheareas the same cannot be said for the stock 2v vs. a stock fourth gen, not from what I've read/seen. Not saying 2v GTs can't be made to move out, or that they are slow stock either.
Having said that, I've beaten a few people that drive stock LS1 Z28s in my 2v GT. But I'd never say I can take LS1 fbodies in my car regardless of that fact. I knew I was racing the person, not the car. There is about a .4-.6 difference in 1/4 times between said cars. The 2 I beat had to have drivers that were simply clueless about how to drive for me to even be that close to them.
I in no way think that GM will let this slide either. Unless of course the Obama administration ties their hands on this one.
Which would be a STUPID move as far as money goes.
That camaro sells other cars for GM. Just like the Mustang sells other cars for Ford.

You do realize that they were names after P-51 Mustangs right? One of the faster planes of WW2. So you might want to retract that statement.
