I hate to throw a Ford into this mix, cause I do love the ZR1 but how about this.

Check out my article, first in the series "The Best Exhaust Sounds".
Global Motorsports Group who are Porsche racing specialists did an exhaust for the CGT. It's AMAZING.

I see your point about the powershifts. You're muddying the waters regarding DRs. Yes, it's for consistency and also less spin during the shifts for a seemingly higher trap speed.
I'm also guessing you're basing your own results on roll-ons that exceed the trap speeds of 1/4 mile results not to mention gearing, etc. There is no magical aspect to either the Z-06 nor the ZR1.
Until you have a baseline, the videos you supplied don't prove anything.
We can agree to disagree, but put those excellent drivers in a CGT, and say goodbye CZ6 and the ZR1 will lose too.

The baselines are ALL there... you just have to know what to look for. You feel the CGT is faster, go right ahead. It might beat a Z06, but it won't run away from it till 160mph (CGT went 170mph in the mile, Z06's went 168-173mph stock same event) BUT the ZR1 will get it everytime, same drivers.
But, you have your right to believe whatever you want.

There are a couple of vids of the engine actually playing the national anthem while in the paddock. Pretty cool. Amazing how close the CGT sounds like an F1 car.
I went for a ride in a ZR1 with headers and LPE pulley (intake coming) yesterday and it ripped. Article coming soon.

Who said anything about magazine baselines? I'm not like killemall, I don't use those "ragged" numbers as concrete.
Just to reiterate my point. Local Z06 just went (track rental over the weekend or late last week) just got a new personal best with +1500DA No powershifts, no ranger/furman behind the wheel on DR's. Again, notice the MPH difference when you put a real tire under the Z06 that can drag race... not the GY's which are better suited for cornering than staightline acceleration.
Anyways, 11.2's @ 129mph. I know you visit the CF, check the thread out if you wish. It isn't easy AT ALL to get a good time down here in SF unless its your deep into winter (november-february for use!) so again, just another example, if you care to "see" that the Z06 is a high 120's car and this is how it runs on the street.

Anyway, if you look at the history of magazine tests with disclosed procedures, no powershifting (or not shifting as fast), no special drag prep and adjusted for zero DA, you'll see they are very consistent model to model with the differences vs. expert driving due to 60ft, DA and prep.
You can almost predict a magazine time can be bettered by approximately .5 and 4-5mph at that level of performance for the ZR1, C6Z, etc. Take it down a notch for cars like the C6 and GT500 and another level for SRT-8s, LS2 GTOs, and such.
So extrapolating that data, the CGT "should" improve that much as well. At least that is my prediction.

Nice runs with the Z. That is an awesome car. Went for a ride in a '10 ZR1 with a Ligenfelter pulley & snout and American Racing headers - it was insane. A write-up is in the works. The car is getting the CAI and meth installed.

Don't disagree with you but not all cars will pick up that much. Look at the GTR R35, it has been just about where the rags have gotten. The 911-tt, samething (the new one puts down 490awhp with 500hp crank, go figure!) however, the CGT might get faster it having that finicky clutch.
I also wonder, at least for the GT-R, if a 100lb weight reduction (full tank vs. near empty) is less dramatic for a 3900lb car vs. a 3100lb car? In other words, the percentage of overall weight dropped is less.
Can you refer me to a source for the new 911TT? I want to read up on the dyno results. Being a mid-engine car with the DCT, it won't have much loss (10%?) and also has an overboost for an extra 30hp or so iirc.
