Visit you tube my friend...120 is nothing

Coefficient of drag on a C5 is far superior than an SS

For the fact that C5's have recorded top speeds of 172-174 with the same exact powerplant that's in their LS1-powered F-body cousins. C5's have better top-speed stock for stock, mod for mod no doubt. But in this case it may have been different due to you making about 35-50whp more than him.

And 250lbs can easily account for +/- 2.5 tenths by the end of the quarter-mile depending, last time I checked that's a pretty decent advantage.
Really? So....the exact same engine/transmission in two vehicles, with one having a SRA and the other a more complex IRS shouldn't make any difference on rwhp? Wow....maybe I should retake physics!

I do agree that it depends mostly on the car, but still, the fbody should dyno higher stock for stock.

Don't put so much into "theory" you know! Theoretically yes a stock LS1 F-body should, but in all my years of being an LS1 enthusiast i've simply never seen the proof. My old '01 C5 put down 303whp stock down to the filter. I bought that car in 2002 with 6k miles on it. A buddy of mine ("Demon 383" on here) had a stock '02 at the time that made a tad over 300whp. Both of our cars were dyno'd at Force Fed Performance in Sacramento on the same dyno, along with several other stock LS1 F-bodies on that same FFP Dyno Day. Both C5's & F-bodies were putting down basically the same hp/tq numbers. If there is a difference it is VERY minimal.

Bring the car out sunday nights to Charlotte beach. I think I remember seeing your car before at New Era. The plate looks familiar. hahah

Or go to RochesterRacing.com.

You'll see a ton of local enthusiasts there.

Youtube... Without being a complete idiot and not caring for anyone elses safety on the streets, why would you go 120+mph? There is no point, that is pure stupidity.
These aren't cars that hit 120mph in a blink of an eye, they are stockish cars. No reason to go that fast.
The winner was VERY clear and he would have kept that.

They are both pretty much stock cars.. C5 with a catback CAI.. Camaro with ported TB/lid.

As far as drag on a C5, it is not far superior... Will it make a slight difference? Yea, but not enough to make up 20Rwhp or pull 2+ lengths on someone.. Unless you are just doing stupid speeds.

As far as dynos.. It all comes down to the dyno and the cars.

Is that C5 an A4? Those numbers look a little anemic even for an LS1 intake car. Should be in the 290+ range but I guess that's splitting hairs.

The C5 has been tested at 174mph in the past. That's a good amount faster than any LS1 F-body ever tested. It's proven fact man, proven fact.

Not a clue, either way I'm sure they used the same trans in both cars. I think that is about on par myself.

What is the fastest fbody ever?
Either way, I can't see a C5 pulling 2+ lengths because of nothing else except for drag by racing from 50-150 or something.

Like mid 160's I believe. I may be wrong. But I know it's nowhere near the C5's 174.

I thought I saw not long ago a 170 mph Fbody that was stock....or are we just talking in a standing mile?

I couldn't imagine that making a difference in a race to 150mph..?

A better question would be what's the fastest an LS1 F-body has ever been officially clocked/tested at. Several mags have tested top speed in our cars and it was usually in the mid 160's. I've heard of 170 but never actually seen that documented. C5's have however been documented at speeds close to 175. How hard is it for some people to believe that a Corvette is better aerodynamically? They've always ran higher top speeds with the same powerplant. What's so rocket science about that

Nothing is hard to understand about that. What we are saying is that it isn't enough difference to give a win to a corvette SOLELY based on aerodynamics.
