LS2 Z51 Vette.
The 2nd race I spun pretty bad, you can hear the car wheel hopping
I'm still on all season tires but I won't complain about spinning in our rematch

Man I'm really starting to hate these 245s! Last night I downshifted to 3rd at 60, punched it and spun the tires enough for my traction control to turn on.. I need fatter tires! Then again my tires are mix matched pieces of **** too!

ya im running some cheap 245 toyos, buddie at town fair tire hooked me up nice so I cant complain.
But when the time comes to replace them Im going to look into getting some wider rims or widen the stockers.

Ya got 2 tires from jerrycecco for $80 then desided that I needed 2 more and purchased them used at $25 per tire from discount tire... not a bad deal but I HATE mix matching... I think we can go up to a 265 without having to stretch the rim.. not sure what the full demention of the tire woud have to be... I've been calling discount tire every few weeks to see if they have any good tires in (I'm gonna be picky this time.) because they will get people in that drove there cars straight from the dealership to switch out the tires and then I can turn around and purchase the almost new tires at $25.00 per tireplus $15.00 for mounting... $160 isn't bad for 4 like new tires... lol

After messing around with both cars I think it's going to be a very good race. I could be wrong but I think that the winner will edge out the other car, whichever one that is.

My official vote is for the V obviously, but more importantly because we have almost identical setups and I just got my car back yesterday and know how good it pulls up top. Ill take the V by a half car to a car.

Same **** as the GTO, we can squeeze a 275 on there but its close. Were worse off as far as drag radials though. I do have to say my GSD3's do hook damn good both wet and dry.

JESUS CHRIST FELLAS!! You spend all that money on mods but buy shitty *** TIRES to put the power down with?!?! Come on:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....t+Z1+Star+Spec

Is $142 a tire too much dough for you?! Dunlop Direzza Star Spec's will give you all the traction you need with a tire equivelant to a DR in stickiness but with a autocross stiff sidewall setup. I just pulled repeated 1.9 60' times at the track with them: would have done alot better but I couldnt get them to spin even at a WOT launch (stock stall A4).

$300 for two tires, shipped to your house. Expect to get a minimum of 15k miles out of them. I'm on 30,000 on my fronts right now. My old 245 rears got 22,000 as a daily driver. (at 5,000 on my 265's now and still look brand new)

Still want bigger? $162 for the 265/40/17 gets you what I have: 10.75" tread width (.25" wider than 275/40/17 DSD3's or KDW's). Expect to have to roll your fender lips and still occasionally rub on bumps in hard corners. Worth it IMO for the outstanding traction.

ya guys squeeze 275s on but they look funny, and since it over laps the rim so much handling goes to hell.

Correct: granted my tires are sticky as hell and the ultimate grip is I'm sure barely affected, but the handling feel does go to hell. But: I have yet to have any car keep up in a constant rate corner... and that list includes a Sti, lowered MazdaSpeed 3, brothers built to the hilt IROC on 10 yr old GS-C Goodyears, S2000, and after the upgrade to 265/40/17's a 350Z.

That being said, the FEEL and FEEDBACK suffer tremendously from having too wide a tire for the rim. Not such a big deal in a constant rate corner, but a killer on a twisty road or autocross track as you are required to wait for the tires/suspension to take a "set" before going after ultimate cornering load.

Think about it: the sidewall is designed to work in a verticle manner. When you push it outwards even alittle bit, that sidewall rubber can now easily squish and flex which gives you a rubbery, sloppy out of touch feeling during cornering. Bugs the hell out of me every time I hit up the twisty roads by my house! Time for a set of wider rims.

My GSD2's have done well, and even with stock wheels and tires, the trailing arms give you under an inch of space, so if you want wider rims you have to modify the trailing arms which only one person makes. Ive heard good things about the tires above^^^^ but ill go with nt05's next
