Honestly I've never seen street racing done on a 1/8 mile setup. Seriously? How did you guys talk that Regal and Mustang into running against a turbo AWD car on a 1/8 or less race?
Damn little talon did move out though. Good vids
BTW: I've never seen a grand national in white. I assume you are showing a Regal, right? Or was it just the GNX that was only in black? been awhile

If its white its a T-type or a turbo T.....both grand nationals and GNX's were only available in black.
And BTW if the regal knew how to launch worth a **** he would have given the talon a run for his money. The turbo buicks are mostly 1/8 mile cars, they can 60' like no other lead sled if launched right.

Nice runs by the DSM. It's fun to watch peoples reactions to cars that were ruling the street in the late 80's and early 90's. A modded DSM can be more than a handfull for todays cars to handle in a short street race. Light weight, AWD and a turbo. I was suprised that the T-Type didnt close quickly after about 60 mph though.
Their are a handful of cars that dominated street racing in the early 90's. They include DSM's, Supras, turbo charged Buicks and 5.0 mustangs. Some of them are still fast by todays standards.
I know a guy that has a baby $hit brown 86 T-Type that runs 10.80s on a street tune. You would not look at his car twice in a parking lot. When I saw his car the only thing that caught my eye were the wheel studs sticking through the lugnuts. When I peered through the dark tinted windows I noticed the cage. His car is the slowest one in the local turbo Buick club.

And yes, pretty much all 3.8's over the years are 1/8 motors...all torque, no top end.
I miss my old 95 TSi AWD every now and then. I never launched it hard because I was always broke back then and was afraid of snapping axles at 17psi. I mainly miss the turbo sound...makes me want a rear mount LS1

Yeah, the 86-87 were the top of a steep learning curve of turbos and intercoolers. Most of the 82's came with an anemic 4.1 anyway. I just like to be right...what man doesn't.

In the 1/8 I ran a 7.8@90 at 3000 DA with the rev limiter hitting twice from the 1-2 shift, with that corrected I'm sure it would run .2 faster all day, quicker in better weather. I'm guessing with that fixed in good weather 11.7 maybe?

2) Who thought it was fast?
3) How is this DSM linked to you in any way?
It looks like you're defending a car that you don't own and that doesn't need defending.
Am I missing something?
