Default 1998 Z28 vs. 98-02 Z28 1st Kill

So I was just cruisin' around town with a friend and we roll up to a Z28, C5, and a GT Mustang (it appears that they all know one another)... So I'm up in front right next to the Z28 and he takes off at the first light. I think ok I'll give him a go on the next light. Well as we were approaching the second light it turned green at about a ~5mph roll so I take off in second (doh!) and we're pretty even at first but once I hit my powerband in second gear I left the Z28 standing. By 4th gear I was several car lengths ahead. My friend goes "wow that was embarrassing and his friends all witnessed it"

Most of my major mods are in my sig. I'm unsure what kind of mods the Z28 had but it couldn't have been much with the results I saw tonight

I know I'll get flamed for this but the car hasn't been dyno tuned yet so I won't have a number until next week. My tuner got as close as he could get with the car so I could break everything in since it has a brand new clutch and rebuilt shortblock. He's saying I'll be close to 440rwhp but that's just an estimate. In the meantime I shouldn't be racing it but I couldn't resist now that it's got about 1000 miles on the rebuild. Everything sounds and feels great so far

Just got my car back from the dyno! It was there for longer than I initially estimated but oh well...

I put down 391/430

Tuner felt I could have done better had the weather been less humid. I'll probably take it back up there for a couple pulls in the fall.
