first of all, you do not need that big of a cam on that motor anyways, especially with that cam to match. plus a different style intake would change that also!!

Big- dont get what you're saying
Git- I got the flats also along with everything built strong for my NX kit coming soon but I wanna leave the double pumper, the new style distrubutor so there's no points. Just with the cam I didnt know what the limit was on excessive rotational mass so we didnt go too big. Still wanna drive it on the street. There's also a lot of weight reductions due to the replacement of a lot of rust spots with fiberglass (trunk, quarter panels, rear quarter panels...came to me from new york)
68- no times yet, I usually win lots of cash from the rice patties around here but I havent been able to get ahold of a helmet and even if I did I can race 1/4 cuz I dont have a cage

I agree ... alot of dumbass people just assume throw the largest (insert part here) on a car and think it will run great. So much work goes into finding the perfect combination it astounds me sometimes.

I dont just automatically assume that I would run in the 11's but I went out to ennis with my beater (99 F-150 XLT) and they asked me if I was racing the 1/8 or 1/4 and I told them I wasnt and they started joking about they dont know why they asked because I have to have a cage to run the 1/4 and the truck probably would be beaten by someone running on the other side in the 1/8th....dicks

neither my dad or I can remember what gears or heads are in it I know it's pretty aggresive, if I remember right we sent it to a friend and told him what we planned to do with it and when he gave it back everyone that drove it was saying it had a great gear ratio...sry. I know the heads are supposed to fit on a '90 camaro but are some special kind...dont remember. but hey cut me some slack that was 2 years ago when I was barely getting my licence. A lot of the car was built while I was in school at my dads auto shop

Couldnt agree with you more SM, although it will not keep me from ragging on him in here if he makes a dumb *** comment.

Combination is so important. Everyone thinks the bigger the cam, and the larger the CFM number on their carbs are, the fasters they will go. some of the mentalities people have about that is ridiculous. I have a pretty good size high energy comp extreme cam in my car, with a nice set of 302 heads that i had cleaneds, ported and polished. i also have a 650 4 barrel on top. hopefully i can keep that carb with my 100 shot i am going to put on it with no worries of leaning out the motor. i am just going to have to wait and see.

reverse manual valvebody400 with a coan 8" steel stator built for the car around 5600 stall and a moser 12 bolt with 35 spline axles and 4.11 gears i run a 28x12.5 et street and it's a ladderbar coilover car 12point cert. 7.50 also got a dual stage plate system best pass on the motor so far is a 10.57 @ 126.3 with a 1.53 60' and on the bottle i've only ran the 1/8th best is 6.17 at 116 with a 1.33 60' but that was extremely conservative this season i'll have it to 5.70's on a single stage and bring the 60' down the chassis and motor are relatively untuned because i only got it together for about 15passes last year so there is a whole lot more in it. it's totally street legal the only fiberglass is the hood. i run a bg400 fuel system 10an line and a bg220 to the dedicated nitrous i have a whole lot more but i'm not going to hijack the thread.

sure did, but I got my story out so it's all good, 68- sounds like you got a great car that's pretty much how I want mine but the finances I have to dump into the old moneypit arent all that great because I'm trying to save for myself to move out into some decent apartments that look nice from the outside AND inside. I got a good job tho...22 hours a week on ave. and $1000 a month on ave.

well my receipts total over 35k for engine and chassis body paint interior, except for the cage and seats it's got all stock interior in it. even the stock console with my cheetah scs mounted in it. it's a lee edwards motor for any of you on the east coast who know of him and possibly out west he deals mainly in mountain motors for promod cars. so 1gen start saving man.
