My 99 vette vs o3-04 cobra ported blower
#41
My point is... Doesn't really matter cause I didn't realize the Vette was that light, till I researched it. 400lbs CAN overcome 100hp advantage...my bad. At face value you just don't expect a car with 100 more rwhp to get beat that badly unless something is wrong, ie bad traction, bad driver, engine problem etc.

Very true! Weight is a huge factor in a lot of racing. I'm looking for a C6 Vette just because I love the mix of power and performance

The guy with the white cobra is making 490RWHP I can vouch for that. He pulled about a car on me so Billy pulling 2 cars on him makes sense. I pulled 1/2 a car on Billy from 40-120mph before nitrous so I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled me by 3 cars on the spray.

I talked to one of the cobra guys buddys today. The car has ported blower pullies , headers exhaust, high flow cats, And tires. He said last he knew the car went 11.7. And I am on continental street tires so I spun hard all the way threw 1st and 2nd until I hit 3rd. So thats where some of my bottom end torque went.
Ps mchdg86 update you sig you dont have a haltech stinger intake you have a K&n I have the haltech now.

Yeah, I am pretty sure his car should be able to pull off a 11.4 sec pass if driven right with a solid tire. Your car on nitrous and a sticky tire should be able to pull off a high 10 second pass with the way you pulled him. I know William pulls me by about 2-3 cars and his best is a 10.98 so you definitely have a fast ride.

As I said before a loss is a loss. If the Cobra heat soaked its his falut for not allowing cool down time between races. A 490-550 whp Cobra is capable of low 11's to upper 10sec runs at a drag strip. If driven well. Anything is possible on the street and driving skills are always a huge factor.

Cobras are nothing to mess with when modded well! I would put them up there as an excellent performance value
The only issue I've ever seen with them is launching on the IRS. Kind of like the newer GT500's. I'd love to see the new 2011 GT 500 in action though

Um, yeah, usually I'd defend a fellow stanger but I have no leg to stand on.. his comment was a pretty facepalm-tastic one. **** like that is what makes people hate Mustang owners, like there already isn't enough people who hate us already
A loss is a loss is a loss is a loss is a loss....is a loss.
If i have 3 plug wires off and one flat tire, I still lost.

You know that all 2005+ Mustangs are solid-axle, not IRS, right?

Ford has a serious dinky tire problem. They could easily put something like a 255....even a 275 on the mustangs from the factory.......but we are given a measily 235 (on the GT's at least). Thanks ford!

Or 10hp per .1 in 1/4 time
or 100lb per .1 in 1/4 time
Good kill op, 03-04's aren't that tough
