Default 98 Z28 Procharged vs. 71 Z28 383 Stroker

My brother and I were at a local spot last night where alot of people get together and drag race. The guy that owned the 71 z28 asked my brother if he wanted to race from a dig, z28 had slicks on it and my brother has regular steet tires. So they decided on a 20 roll for the first one. The other guy honked it off my brother was in 2nd, three honks and they are off they stayed even for about a second then the 71 took off like a bat at of hell. He won by about 3 cars (We didnt know he was spraying) They did another roll from 30 which brought my brothers rpms up almost into boost, the result of that race was about 1.5 cars but my brother was pulling on him when he shut it down. When we got back they talked for alittle bit and he said he shut it down when he saw my brother pulling on him in the second race.

Mods:
98 Z28 lts, o/r y, corsa exhaust, p1 on 6psi and tune. 450rwhp (boost is set at 3500rpm)

71 Z28 383 stroker, aluminum head, big cam, and 150 shot 500rwhp on motor 650 on spray.

He sprayed both races, he said without the spray he wouldve lost. Plan on running again from 35 that way my brother is in boost the entire time and will probably be a different outcome.

I have a video just trying to upload it and if i get it ill put it up.

He must be spinning the hell out of that old 383 to make 500rwhp. Or did he mean 500 crank hp? It takes some very top notch drag racing heads to get that rwhp out of a stroked 350 SBC. Ask me how I know.

If you could get him to turn his bottle off it would be alot closer race and probably a different winner. j

How do you know?

We asked and he said he wouldnt have raced us without the bottle.

I think if we wouldve ran from a 35 it wouldve been neck and neck cause at 35 my brothers car is in boost from the start and any lower speeds he isnt in it.
