The biggest reason the Cobalt beat the S2000 around the Ring is because it's faster in a straightline. Drive them back to back and few people would say the Cobalt handles better. I guess you're one of those few.

those sound amazing. i remember always watching indycar/cart on tv as a kid and thought they sounded just ok. i went to a race a few years ago and those were some of the deepest sounding, back firing painful in your chest vehicles i have ever listened to. it made nascars feel safe to be around.

its one thing to like the car you have, its another thing to be blind and just not like anything else. ive been lucky and got to be around alot of exotics in my life and all of them sound amazing for different reasons. the vettes sound one way, the f430 another, the 550 different, all the lambos which make you pants tight, even silly **** like the slr, ccx, etc. all are music to your ears because you can feel the power the vehicle makes.

and the cobalt ss is faster then the s2k because it gets out of corners way faster then the s2k. both handle very well, but the s2k is just painfully slow when compared to todays time.

So the s2k is 17secs slower becuz the cobalt is .1tenth faster in the 1/4mile? Most cobalt ss do 13.8-14.0stock if not a tiny bit higher depending on the driver.
I don't hate how every car sounds every car but my own, just don't like exotics I like modern mostly american v8s

not sure where you got that from. one a road course you can tackle it in different ways. both the s2k and the cobalt ss turbo handle well. but when you get out of the corners I am sure the cobalt has more availble whp/wtq to pull it out of one corner and down to the next. I am sure each corner exit is where the SS puts the hurting on the s2k.

I would also wager that the SS would be cover the 2nd 1/8 of a 1/4 faster then the s2k and trap higher. prob also showing how much quicker it is then a s2k if you were to do a 1/2 mile run. and if i recall the ring has a straight -ish run which is close to a mile long is not longer. that also helps the SS gap the s2k further.

I'd say given equal drivers, the average S2000 is .2-.4 slower in the 1/4, and ~2-3mph slower. On a track that is 13 miles long, where cars are capable of reaching ~95% of their top speed in 2 or 3 places, small differences in acceleration become quite large.

I don't see how it would be that big over speed alone when its only a .1 to 2tenths faster car. But idk. Just stock to stock it would be a decent race.

Both have pluses and minuses, i love both, and both drive and handle amazingly, but go about it very differently. Apples to oranges.

When did I say my own personal car sounds amazing? It sounds quieter than stock. But I think 99% of LSx sound better than any exotic.

The person that claims that Nickelback is the best and Beethoven/Bach/Mozart sound bad has no taste. Taste is opinion, but it is palpable. You can like blondes best and that's fine, but when you say brunettes and redheads are ugly you are showing your lack of taste and appreciation for beautiful things. Just like you can prefer American V8s over any engine in the world, but when you make your opinion that exotic cars sound bad public, that gives us the right to judge you for it.
