Question me vs new edge gt

Just now I raced a 2000ish gt and got beat not bad but still got beat. Well the guy tells me all he had done to the car is exhuast and UD. I had raced these cars with full exhuast and some sort of cai and have beat them. WTF happened here? Also the road was a little bit moist, so I had no traction. Please tell me if it were dry it would have been a differnt story! I did start to catch him the faster we went. But who races til' they hit rev limiter.

+1..

if those were his only mods you should have beaten him. So he probably maybe might have suckered you. I used to have a 2000 Z28 with 2.73, auto, with just a lid and loudmouth, and i raced a 2v GT from a roll and walked him pretty bad.

Would I get more rwhp out of a UD or if I went with a cut-out? It could've been worst...It could've been a ricer to the win.

I have an MR2 that runs high 13s that kills GTs like that so you should have beat him easy unless something is wrong with your car.

There is nothing wrong with my car. I guess think he just had more than he was letting on. Now that I think of it...it could have been that I wasn't getting any traction. As soon has I would hook up I would start to catch him. I had been raining allday. A LOST, IS A LOST and I LOSt by not that much. Now back to my question...what would give me more rwhp an UD or a cut-out?

I would think you'd know whether the fact that you didn't have traction was why you lost or not, but it sounds like your questioning it. I sure as hell know when I spin bad out of the hole or not! And I have walked those things with bolt ons real hard with my 284 whp 08 mustang so you should have aced him since your lighter and have more RWHP. I don't know, he might have had more than he said.

Also as far as your question, your probably going to gain about the same from either of those mods, but I've never liked or trusted under drives so I'd go with the cut out.

I'm really sure that if the road wasn't moist I could've got him up top. Now, from a dig I think I would've been neck and neck til' 80mph and then I would've walked him pretty hard. I asked him if he woud go to the track and he says he doesn't get any traction. I WILL GET MY REVENGE!! Next time I see him I'll ask him for a dig run when it hasn't rained for 3 days straight And get it on video. YES...I know it wasn't a smart decision to run but he kept trying me for a mile or so.

My guess is full bolt-ons/tune, and possibly gears. That would put him in the 280-285rwhp range, and certainly capable of high 12s with traction.

Edit: High 12s is more realistic.

Why? That's retarded, something a ricer would do.

I just started a thread earlier this week about my friends bone stock LT1 beating a new edge gt, so I hope to god you LS1 can pull on one. Every one that I've raced with a few mods, I've smoked 'em. You had terrible traction and/or he lied about his mods, could be spraying for all we know.

Was this from a dig or a roll? Judging from 1 of your previous post, seems like your saying you guys raced from a roll. If so, what speed did you guys start at? The fact that the road was moist, probably gave you some traction problems depending on the speed you went at. Although you should know if that was the problem or not.

If the guy can drive that GT, then i can believe the loss and your still pretty much stock judging from your signature.

Do you know of some videos of 2v's with those exact mods running those times in the 1/4? Serious question.

No videos, but I know people with cars that have those mods running similar times. Buddy of mine online even ran a ~13.3 a few years ago with his GT with just a CAI, H-pipe, and 4.10s. Didn't even have DRs I don't believe. Didn't say that 12s was common with those mods, but it's definitely possible.
