There'll be a street tune, auto-X tune, going-to-the-movies-tune, picking-up-groceries-tune, going-to-the-drycleaners-tune, picking-up-ho's-tune, water skiing-tune, etc. And then when I LOSE to a faster car, I can just say that I was using the wrong tune as an excuse...

LMFAO! Thats a **** load of tunes!

How about a cai, catback and underdrive pulley on that LT1. That should do the trick![/QUOTE]

EPIC QUOTE FAIL

He didn't really loose either race so I don't see him making excuses.
Actually rally cars (at least those in WRC) have anti-lag to prevent loss of boost when they get off the throttle or downshift for a turn, so they have full power when exiting a turn.

So your saying having, lets say 2 tunes, one for "lower boost" and pump gas and one for more boost and race gas is not realistic?

I'm just using that as an example as they're many other factors such as 2 step, rev limiter, timing etc that all can play a part in performance.

I mean obviously if he goes racing and hes not going at his full potential and blames it on that factor hes an idiot.

The LT1 is jsut getting a catback for now. He has plans for it, don't worry. I think the catback will make the roll change a little different, the 2 step + AWD makes for some great launches, so the dig is tough to overcome.

I know the WRX wasn't making excuses, hes a friend of mine and thats just what he's always said that tune was called, and I know he hasn't changed it out for another tune.

I'll ask him what the differences in the tunes are. As I stated ^up there^, he wasn't making excuses.

Maybe this is the case.

I was guessing because years ago I went to an autocross event in my probe. A guy with a supra kept hitting boost entering the first corner and blowing the tires off. Keeping constant power in the turn or not building boost at as low of an rpm would have helped this supra!

Point being I don't think he was making up the "rally tune" regardless of how it differed from any other tune he has for the car.
