When I first got my car it was stock except for borla and cutout. I guess it was about the 3rd day I had it. A purple mustang cobra pulls up by me on the interstate. It sounded like the typical flowmaster car. Anyways, we were doing about 60mph since we both had just got on the i-state; he stomps it so I shifted down to 3rd and smoked his *** by multiple cars. I would've been embarrassed if I was him. Bet he remembers me though. lmfao IDK what he had done to the car, I got off on the next exit. Not much of a kill, but hell it got me laughing and grinning.

I've been wanting to run a 2010 camaro, but i've been beside about 3 of them and they just don't wanna do it.
Got a question as well, how good do the 03/04 mustang Cobras run. I've been watching them on youtube and they don't seem that fast. Looks like they pull good after 120 though. Hows the LS1 stack up against them?

edit: the cobra was either a 94 or 95 model.

 

A stock 03-04 cobra can be a mid 12 car stock they are very underrated from ford they typically dyno 360-380 at the wheels. In short they will beat a stock fbody every time not slaughter it but they will win and once u start modding them the supercharger really takes over and most of the time, unless your built, a simple pullied, cai, and exhaust cobra will walk a bolt on ls1...good kill btw

 

From watching the youtube vids of the cobras I really notice that they pull like crazy from 120mph and up. Most cars acceleration drops in that area, but man they just keep rolling. I am assuming that the non SC cobras aren't very fast then.

 

I have a hardtime believing that an exhaust ls1 beat a 03/04 cobra by multiple car lengths. Those cars are faster than lightly modded LS1. 03/04 = S/C. I think you probably raced the slower 99/01 cobra, not the blower termi.

 

I'll have to agree with my sworn enemy 2SSARME (lol) - that or it was a GT maybe with Cobra Badges (it happens)

 

Pretty sure he didn't race an 03/04 Cobra, considering he goes on to ask how they stack up against an LS1.

No, no, guys I thought I put it was either a 94 or a 95 model. I could tell when I saw the tailights. They got that horizontal body molding or whatever it is covering the taillights. All I did was beat a measley 5.0. Sorry for not being specific. I wish I beat a 03/04. lmfao

what does the new camaros run in the quarter? i ran one once and i had a panel on him we raced from a stand still to 140mph and thats when i finally pulled on him just a little bit. idk if he was just messing with me or not. my car only has exhaust with a cutout, lid, and a tune.

 

The new SS will run anywhere from 12.5(being the best) to well into the 14s (bad drivers). Average seems to be high 12-low 13s for M6s and low 13s-mid 13s for A6s. Up at top speeds they are another animal. They really move out past 100-110mph+++.

 

No biggie man. you were really nice about calling BS on 03/04 cobra kill. Maybe one day I will kill one, maybe after tax time.

 

I think you raced a gt, there has never been a cobra made in purple, good kill either way and always nice to get a first kill in a new ride

^^ This. some run better than others but if your just bolt ons, your only bet would be beating a bad driver, you more than likely wont run into a stock cobra either, seems like most at least have i/e/pulley

They pull hard up top but not as hard as say a vette. The non-sc cobras (99/01, 96-98) aren't as fast obviously but they arent to be taken lightly. Just a comparison for you, my 98 ran 12.8 @ 106 with 4.10's mid-pipe and k/n filter only.

When the 03-04 Cobra's gets a different pulley/Tune is when things start getting ugly for a bolt on LS1.

 

False on so many levels... It was not a 96 mystic, if you read the story you will see he said it had horizontal tail lights making it a 94-95 mustang.

Ls1's do not destroy 96-98 cobra's, maybe with a shitty driver in the cobra then yes. I raced a 02 z28 that had a catback and I had a k/n filter and o/r x-pipe and we were dead even, both of us were good drivers.

ls1 lid and catbacks trap ~114 now? because thats what the 03/04 cobra does stock.

It's one thing to be a mustang loyalist but get real. LS1's **** on 94-01 Cobras stock for stock. The only thing that woke up the 96-98 Cobra was serious gears 4:11-4:56 allowing them to get into there suprising power band quicker.

They trap 108-110 and run 12.80-13.00 with a decent driver. When I say decent driver I don't mean not what someones brothers best friends mom's cousin ran. I'm talking the actual real world times. That also goes for the Ls1 "stories" of mid 12 's stock to the paper filter.

A lid-catback LS1 runs 12.90-13.1 hence my previous statement.

Don't get me wrong I have a man crush on terminators but in stock form they aren't a world beater.

 

The car for sure had the horizontal tails on it. However, the purple was like a light purplish, the car really dirty so IDK what color to call it. Maybe it had custom paint, IDK it looked like ****.
