Loan free is the best way to do it too. I havn't used anything but money out of my pocket for my build and it feels damn good. Last big expense is the paint job and I already have the cash saved up for that, so I'm pretty much in the clear.

I don't plan on mine being much of a track car either. Mostly roll races and occasional dig runs. I'm praying the 10 bolt holds up for a little while at least since I really don't feel like dishing 2K on a 9 inch. I'll keep my eyes open for your build. Seems like a lot of people are going turbo these days.
Don't waste your time looking for the build, won't be happening until next spring. I'll be buying parts here and there when I see deals, and have most everything ready then buy a car when I find exactly what I am looking for. The 88 will definitely be nasty in boost. It won't require much boost to make power , which is a good thing. I am perfectly fine with a V8 being all the low end I need, and having the monster turbo up top. Shouldn't need more than 10# to achieve my goals.

Is yours close to finished then? I want some feedback on how a 6 speed turbo is living with.

Mines at the body shop as we speak getting some fresh paint. I actually just saw it monday. Prep work is completely done and now he's just looking for time to spray the paint and clear....then the wetsand/buffing of course. Should have it back in about 2 weeks, and then all I need is a clutch and the whole drivetrains going in.

I'm assuming it'll be running in the next 2 months or so if all goes according to plan. I'll def let you know how schweet (or shitty) it is to drive a 6 speed turbo car, haha.

What clutch are you going with? I haven't really looked into that part yet.

(Guy looked at my car last night, said he wants to buy Saturday so the funding for my project is coming! )

Thats sweet man, best of luck with the sale! It sucked when I sold the shelby GT but now I have a **** ton more money to finish my TA so it works out.

As far as a clutch, I'm going with a textralia Z grip. Not cheap but for what I've heard about them and the way they drive, it's well worth the money. They say clutch hydraulics upgrades are not even recommended for that clutch because it works so well with the stock set up. I think it's rated at like 800 or so lbs ft of torque.

That was the first place I was going to look. I've heard they cryo treat them or something so there is no break in period, which would be cool. I definitely want overkill in terms of what the clutch can handle. I doubt want to skimp there, and go through multiple clutches a year.

Oh snap, I forgot I posted in here. Here is the story, although it was a while ago.

The STS in question was most likely stock, maybe lowered, newer model. Basically, some shorter Hispanic dude with a sideways Yankees cap on was pacing me and my girlfriend for about two miles. The entire time he was pacing me, he had the gangster lean with his seat, and one hand on top of the steering wheel. He just starts flooring it, then slowing down, and figured, screw it might as well. I'm giving chase, and there is traffic, so I slow down and he does the ricer weave in and out of cars.

We do this dance for a good mile plus, and get to the highway. At this point, I can't wait to blow the doors off this guy, except he is far enough ahead that he makes the left turn arrow onto the highway, and I am stuck behind cars a light behind him. It was at this point, I should have noticed that he got on the highway MUCH slower than his previous rates of speed.....

I take off from the light, cut the wheel hard, and pedal through a slide to the onramp. Screeching tires and all. I am doing about 100ish (really short on-ramp), when I spot the guy and pass him around 130 or so. If I had to guess, he was being a good boy going 65 mph. I couldn't figure out WHY he was going so slow. So I figured it was time to get off the highway ASAP (you know... in case of cops), and what do you know, AZ DPS is behind me RIGHT on my *** on the off-ramp. A newer civic pulls up next to me and the guy rolls down his window "Dude, you are fucked, he was behind you when you pulled onto the freeway"

**** **** **** ****. My girlfriend glanced at me and we both had the "Oh ****" look.

So I make the turn right off the highway, and sure enough, lights/siren flip on. Pull into a little parking lot, and I throw my keys out the window onto the ground (I always assumed that's what you did, never been pulled over going criminal speeds before).
Him: "Son, you have any idea what you did wrong"
Me: "Yes... I was being really stupid, and I know what I did was very very stupid"
Him: "Why did you throw your keys out the window? You done this before?"
Me: stupid grin on my face "Believe it or not, no, but that's what I thought I was supposed to do"

Step out of the car, does the make sure I'm not drunk or high test.

Him: "You know how many violations I can get you on?"
Me: "3?"
Him: "10."
Me: "Ahh... yeah..."
Him: "Any idea how fast you were going?"
Me: "Probably 95ish.... I know that it was wrong"
Him: "Well I couldn't see it, because you were gone by the time I got on the highway, but I did see you cut across those lanes to get off. How much money is it to go to the track?"
Me: "$20..."
Him: "Keep it there...I'm going to give you an unsafe lane change violation, because that was the stupidest thing I saw you do. Come on man, we all like driving fast, but not here"
Me: "Thank you sir! I know I was wrong, and you won't see me again"

The end!

Lol. Nothing hurts the ego more than running into a cop after blowing someone's doors off.

Haha, I will definitely try to post more kills, my NANO is almost hooked up. The dipshits at the fill place filled my nitrous incorrectly, and they refuse to accept it could have been filled up wrong.

Also, if I lay on the purge for 3+ seconds, and no ice crystals come out, apparently that's normal.

Also, I apologize for the hijack

Hahaha Gaunt thats classic. I have a real similiar story.....

Initiate hijack now

I was in my 2000 firehawk in Springfield, MA (shitty city). Just had gotten out of work and felt like giving it some juice onto the on ramp. Theres a bridge that goes over the stop light I was at (where the highway crosses over the road) and the ramp is literally RIGHT past the bridge. Me being a jackass go to take the left turn out of the bridge onto the ramp and gun it like a mad man....spin through 1st sideways and rip through 2nd. Well the 1st car at the light to the right was a Springfield cop. Flies up behind me with his lights on and I was slowly cruising up the ramp since I didn't want to stop. He yells on his speaker "pull the vehicle over now!." At that I shot over and shut the car off. He walks up to my window all flustered and no lie, yells at the top of his lungs in my face, "WHY....DID....YOU....NOT....PULL.....OVER!! DID YOU NOT SEE THE LIGHTS BEHIND YOU!?!?!?!" I had to hold back so bad not to burst out laughing and I just said no, I didn't at first....I'm sorry.

He then takes my info and goes back to the car. Makes me wait there for like 15 minutes and comes back and gives me a wreckless driving ticket. ****! I want to say it was around $175. I submitted it not guilty and went in to fight it. I think I told them it was wet out and I slid a little since I gave it a bit too much gass, since he failed to write the conditions on the ticket. They reduced it to an 80$ charritable donation and I was on my way.

OK, back to topic!
