Default 2011 Mustang GT vs 2006 Magnacharged GTO

Have a buddy with a 2006 Magnacharged GTO that ive been wanting to run just for ***** and giggles to see how badly he would beat me. Well, we finally got a run in tonight!

My mods are:
Steeda CAI
O/R Xpipe
3.73 gears
M6
Email Tune from BlowByRacing

His:
Magnacharger@6psi
1 3/4 LongTubes
3.73 gears
M6

Not really a whole lot of **** talking in this one, we all kind of knew what was going to happen. I was actually suprised with the results. We went from a 45 with both of us in 2nd. Door to door until about 115, i shifted into 5th and thats when he started to come around me due to that lovely 4th gear he has. Ended up maybe a car behind him.

All in all, it was a good run, good cars, fun night! And shows a little bit of what a 5.0 can do with some bolt ons!

And there IS an LS1 in the video...its the trail car for the race. Makes around 360/380 with bolt ons and tune.

Hope you guys enjoy, and that it wont start up too much of a **** storm...

Nice video, Maggie-Charged GTO's kinda suck in comparison to other blowers/turbos though. It adds a lot of weight and the motor gets heat soaked pretty much instantly. I'd be surprised if that car ran any faster than 117-118mph traps when it was cold... any hot lapping would bring that down in a hurry.

I can write up a little sign to put next to the slip with what ever you want me to put on it, if you'd like. It was done on 275 Drag Radials.

I didnt get a chance to run it bone *** stock. The closest to stock was i ran it with just a tune and it did a 12.4@115. These cars are all over the place when it comes to running them stock.

Especially when you're running in -1500 ft DA... Must be nice to have a track open in the middle of January when temps are in the high 30's.

Ahhh ok. That explains it a little better. I could be running an 11.9 with that d/a.

See now you didn't mention that you have a tune. Is it mailorder or dyno. A tune makes a huge difference, so you should list that. It is making since how you ran a 11.9 more and more.

DA was -815 on Jan 15, 2011 at Coastal Plains Dragway, but non the less... Neg DA and running in January is awesome!

Mail order. And i imagined having a tune for a bolt on car is the same as assuming a LSx with Cam Only has Intake, Longtubes...ect...so i just didnt list it.

tune is a good 3 tenths of a second mod. maybe even more on those newer cars. So it definatly needs to be listed

Nice vid! 5.0 is quick! On the other hand i've never seen a Maggie-charged GTO that impressed me well.

Im well aware of that. Just wanted him to see what his best run is currently compared to this GT and to see if he still thinks he can cut .6 off his time with just the stall. ill tell you its probably a lot harder to run 11.9@110.8 than it is to run 11.9@117

Shouldn't be too hard to make up half a second and 6mph, right?
