Considering the motor is more than 10 years newer, puts down more hp stock than a full bolt-on LS1, his car is an auto, he had a passenger, and they raced from a roll, it actually says a lot. And that you obviously need to think more before posting.

Anyways good kill OP, I'm glad you got to run one! I've been waiting since I got LT's to come across one, but the only time I see them is when im in my DD saturn, fail! I guess i'll find one eventually, and hope to post a kill story just like you. Congrats!

They can hit 11's with just tires? Jeez what kind of trap speeds are these things producing?

It takes a bit more than just tires for them to hit 11s. They are around 110-113mph stock.

Most run high 12s.. Tune, exhaust and or intake, tires and they are knocking on elevens, with a good driver they are there.

So basically, without a couple hundred pound weight reduction, I would have to cam my car to pull even with a bolt on GT??? ****!!!!!!!!!!

Correct . My POS is trapping 116-117 with steeda intake and a 93 octane email tune so they are responding to mods decently. I need to add exhaust now to see what happens

Well since stock for stock the gt wins, they respond just as good to mods as ls motors, mod for mod they would win. You would always have o have an extra mod or at least have a better selection of mods.

In most cases though It would take a cam only ls to outrun a full bolt on gt.

You want to guarante a win almost everytime? Spray the bitch.

I like your train of thought, maybe a custom grind stealth cam and a 100 shot should be good to embarrass most street cars, and hit high 10's. Good to go!

A full bolt on baby cam ls1 with a 100 shot on it would be enough to outrun just about anything on the street you would run into. High tens@125+

My buddy has a 00z28.. BONE BONE BONE stock ls1 lid 273s etc etc.. STOCK.. he put a 100 shot on it.. was RIGHT THERE with me and my buddy.. only time we started to pull him is when he hit 90mph, 273 gears dead spot.

My times 7.3@94 before my intake swap. buddy trapped 91 before the heads..

Quick list of my mods.. full bolt ons ported heads 226 cam 102 intake gears converter etc full suspension
Buddies
Full bolt ons AFR 205 heads 224 cam 90 intake stock 342s suspension clutch

Throw full bolt ons and a baby cam in his camaro and he woupd have walked both of us extremely hard, that's an easy 60-75 more rwhp with those mods.
Both mine and my buddies cars I would consider very quick for your normal everyday street car. I have only lost to a ported pullied cobra and some bikes and he has only post to a whippled lightning truck.

Hope all that made sense.. tired as **** and on my phone lol

Why is this camaro running so hard? Are you saying him with a baby cam AND nitrous? It sounded like you said he would stick by your H/C/I cars with JUST a cam. Sorry OP

There was one at our local track not to long ago and with just a cold air intake and a 150 shot it went 10.70 according to a friend. Not sure of the MPH but that is very impressive. They are no joke for sure. I've been thinking about buying one for the street and just making my Camaro a full out race car. That engine is very impressive..

Loving the new 5.0 engine..

I don't wanna hop on the bandwagon but I seriously like them a lot. If it goes fast I like it!
