If he spent the money to make it look like that and put a Cobra bumper on the rear, then it probably is just a GT with a bunch of aftermarket body parts on it.

Yeah a 2001 Cobra with a tune or a 03/04 would have very likely taken a 1998 minimal mod TA

How about a 98 with ls6 intake and LTs and a tune? How would that do against them?

A lot better! With those mods you should be around 320-340rwhp.

Better. But an stock 03/04 would likely still win. I honestly don't know of many stock 03/04 Cobras though And if they go intake and tune you probably lose. Try a couple of 03/04s and let us know how you do.

It would surprise me if a stock 03 lost to a full exhaust intake lid tuned fbody. It won't be a big win but it would be a win I believe.

An 01 with just a tune it would be a dead nuts race slight advantage to the cobra until speed gets over 100 or so.

Numbers mean nothing.. my ta full weight 4k stall 370rwhp vs buddies bolt on pulley 03 450rwhp.. dead even with me slightly pulling.

That's impressive for sure How do you find those 4k ptcs? Going through transmissions much? Just curious on your thoughts and experiences with it.

You guys give way way way way way way way too much credit to those POS older Cobras. Seriously now, you guys are trying to say that pre '03 Cobra's only need a tune to take out a "1998 minimal mod TA"???? What world are you on?

Next thing you know, you guys are gonna claim they beat LS1's mod for mod...

The world of reality.

I speak from personal experience. I had a 1998. Stock for stock and 03 would walk it. A pulley CAI tune Cobra would have killed it. I don't think LT and a intake would have been enough to keep up with a modded 03. But who knows anything can happen. That is why I suggested he try it after mods.

Notice I said "PRE '03 Cobra". Of course the supercharged '03/'04 Cobras are gonna take out a LS1 Fbody. But not the older Cobras: they never did close the gap with the LS1.

i
I love ptc they are the ****. Period.

I have a built trans. My buddy Is also running a ptc 4k in his bolt on 98 with 150k miles, zero problems. Just get a good cooler.

From my experience and research.. they act exactly as a converter its size should, not too loose or tight. Hits hard as Hell and is very efficient, hits harder and Is effecient as any other brand converter I have ever experienced.

You want a converter worth its money, ptc.

Any simple mod to an 01 Cobra or mach1 it has the advantage until 100mph or so. As mods start the gap is larger since they don't respond like a 346.

Not in my experience.

An 01 Cobra could walk my 98 stock for stock, a good friend had one and we ran several times. When the modding started my 98 TA was faster but then the 03 came along and he got one of those.

I walked two different 01 Cobras in my 98 with LM catback and a lid.
I ran 8.4@84 mph with those mods.

I beat several 99+ cars that ranged from bone stock to catback/lid/simple mods.

Just because it is a 98 means nothing. I that 01 walked your 98 (as long as your 98 was running up to par) it most likely would have walked a good bit of 99+ cars as well, probably was just a strong runner.

I have never lost to a stock f-body... not even one that had catback, lid and ls6 cam. He was slowly slowly coming back around 110 but he never caught me.

People act like the pre 03 cobra's were slow and written off but thats hardly the case. I would put my car up against any light bolt on f-body
