2009 G8 GT vs 2006 STI Dig Run

As far as a stock GT...i don't know about that one.
I'd probably go with a regular civic for the lower purchase cost and insurance costs anyway, so no chasing mustangs.
I had a conversation with my insurance company last week, and it would cost me more to insure a Civic Si than an 05 GTO (cross shopping because i'm considering a GTO or an eco car and a bike on the side). That's insane, but when you think about the number of morons that buy civics...

So does this make the new Civic Si a high-revving screamer? You bet, and we love it. The Si now has the much-needed speed to compete in the pocket-rocket market, ripping off 0-60 mph in 6.8 seconds and running through the quarter mile in 15.1 at 94.6 mph. And it's 0.8 sec. quicker to 60 and through the quarter mile than the last Si we tested in the July 2002 issue.
Think he was just pulling our chains, because everything he said is obviously bogus. Interior is just as cramped as any other sub compact, too.

I do like how the new civic SI's finally have the 200 HP version of the K series engine. Too bad they are not the lightest car on the road. A buddy of mine got his *** handed to him in his bolt on Scion TC by a new civic SI the other day though.

My buddies Stock 4dr Si vs exhaust/intake GT. I mean i'm sure you'll make whatever excuse you want but just do some research. Besides the mustang having the dead stop advantage the Si's will trap just the same if not a lil better in most cases. Been in too many winning races with em to call it luck or driver error. Oh well think what ya want.

Here's our cai Si vs an new auto RS camaro. We never got a good clean run but this was the closest too it out of the 3 runs. RS had us by a fender one race, and we had the other 2. On this run i was catching up to him after he did a flyby losing the 1st time. It looks like i jumped him big but if you watch closely I slowed down to get beside just before he took off again so i just laid back into it. Still the lil 2.0 had enough to pull back by about half a car before he let out or hit his limiter. Yes i know i sound like a punk *** ricer btw. I was really suprised at the outcome. lol Regardless the Si is a decently fast car stock for what it is and what i offers as a good all around daily.

Road & Track says: mpg - 22/31 mpg (worst of ALL sub compact sport cars)

I don't have anything to gain or lose by talking about his daily econobox like its a racecar or a diesel bug. I just speak facts. People will see what they wanna see and believe what they wanna believe. No reason to lie. Take it for what you will.

Those are actually my least fav body style minus the 03-04 cobras. I owned a 2008 mustang GT though so I'm a lot more partial to those. I actually also really like the SN95 body style as well......call me crazy lol. But hey not everyone is going to like the same things!

well like i say guys it is what it is. I don't have anything i need to prove. Just stating simple facts based on personal experience. Experiences with others may vary. BTW don't most stock GT's trap 98ish mph with proper driver? No different from new V6 camaro's. You all act like the GT is WAY faster then i'm comparing too and thats not the case at all. Plus as i've stated about the Si, its roll speed is much better then its dead stop. The Si's suck ***** below 50. Vtec doesn't engage untill 6k and as short as 1st gear is you basically get nothing from it. 2nd is ok but just stating that i can put that Si (or anyone who can actually drive one) up against a 98-99 trap car anyday of the week and it be a drivers race. There's nothing exaggerated about that. I dont know why you all act like i'm stating something so far fetched. A 99 GT is not that fast. It will beat the civic in the 1/8th all and most cases in the 1/4 from a dead stop depending on driver but otherwise its not gonna pull from an Si. Power/weights are extremely close. Anyways i'm done with it.

Everything I found on them placed them in that range too, but I would guess closer to 3400 lbs. Also, I found a Honda site that had the Si listed as 2895 lbs. Probably the difference between the 2 door and the 4 door.
Even if we say the Civic is 2800 and the Mustang is 3400, it's 14.21 lbs/hp for the Civic vs 13.08 lbs/hp for the Mustang. If you put a 200 lbs driver in both cars then it gets worse for the Civic. Also, this only takes peak power into account.
