Regardless of where you buy it, go to gopro's site and update it with the latest firmware. Depending on the date of manufacture the firmware won't be the latest version, and the newest one gives you better night video quality as well as a few other neat features, and it only takes a min to do.

Yeah. They had them on sale in the low 230s shipped a few weeks ago, but it looks like they're 242 shipped now.

Compared to my original firmware, the new firmware has the option for upside down recording (automatically flips the file), better night quality, the option to turn on in whatever mode you want (so nice for street racing so you don't have to fumble with it), live video feed option, more power off options, an extra option for programming it to take a pic every X seconds, and a couple other small things.
I haven't used it with the new firmware, but i'm looking forward to it.

Sounds like a good investment. I always hated trying to find a cameraman at the last second. Been wanting to get one of these for a while, so now I'll get it when I don't have a car. 
Whenever I get around to buying another car, I might just strap the GoPro on it at all times just in case. Do they have a swivel mount?
