Went out last Sunday and decided to challange as many nice rides as I could for an hour. The pickens were slim and the first car was a newer mustang. Got beside it with a women driving and tride to get her to run but no such luck.

Then saw a LT1 Firebird convertable with a nice engine note. Saw him lookin at the viper in his rear view and crept up on him Jaws style with a few nice revs but still no bite.

Then saw a nice red 2005 GTO that had a CRAZY engine rev as it passed me heading in the opposit direction with his jaw wide open and mouth on the floor as he passed and nearly comitted suicide cranking his kneck all the way around potrogheist style looking at the viper. I pulled on the curb for 10 minutes thinking he was defiently gonna turn around and com back for a challange but he never did.

Finally I saw a new red SS camaro. I gotta admit that for a fairly inexpensive ride the SS camaro has a nice look from the rear. almost exotic looking with a wide rear and low slung roof. VERY BNICE LOOKING RIDE.

I followed him around for several miles and gave him revs ect. two guys in the car and I coukld see the passenger egging on the driver like an EA anoucment to get into the game.

Finally after lots of revs and egging on while I was 2 cars behind the SS in the center lane with him in the right lane he hit it!

I saw his car squat a bit and take off. He was about 3 carlengths ahead when I hit it and I imediately stopped his pull and swung beside him and two cars aheead by the time I hit 100 mph.

I was a bit underimpressed. But hey the car had two people and appeared to be stock and from what I remember is a 13.0 car at 110 mph. So not really sure what I was expecting. But it was sti;ll fun and we gave eachother the thumbs up and I continued my hunting with no more luck.

Got videos but problems with my computer so cant post em up yet

Sounds about right. Can't expect much with a stock camaro against a lightly modded viper.

you just cant please everyone. guy happenned to be in a stock 426 HP SS camaro.

Couldve been boltons at 450 HP or cammed at 500 HP or supercharged at 600 HP. But in this case it happenned to be a stock 426 HP example (am I correct with the SS haveing 426 HP?)

So if the guy had been supercharged on borrowed time at 570 rwhp and pulled me then youd be laughing and saying how I got yanked ect.

Good kill is sufficient. He gave the thumbs up and I returned it.

The 6 speed 6l80e autos are rated at 400hp with a L99 engine and are said to definitely wake up once a transmission tune and engine tune are done

I've read a few articles in GMHTP where both the LS3 and L99 show almost similar gains with modifications. Both very capable motors. The L99 A6 Camaro just seems slugish from the factory IMO (or at least the one I test drove)

 

This makes you come off like a dbag. Your talking down a 30-35k car because you have a viper.

Could have been, but if you knew anything about cars would have known that.

its not an expensive car that I said had an almost exotic look from gthe rear. I was actually giving props. 35-40K in 2011 isnt expensive for a sports car. It is average.

The car looks much better than it has too IMHO for the money and thats a good thing. Dont get me wrong. Upon closer inspection you see many of the desighn cues are fake. I was blown away when I saw the side strates by the rear wheel wells were actually not even functional!!!! But again its a 35-40k entry level sports car. Not a 48-65K vette.

As far as my car I got it for 54K back in 2007. I have a 04 quest/05 jeep/08 ram and recently traded my 1991 nsx for an 2011 kia forte.

New camaro in red was like I said. Almost exotic looking from the rear and somthing you dont usually see from 35-40K cars. Now the front and profile..Nothing special about it. Nice looking car though. But from the rear I really like what they did. It has an almost lambo look. With the small roof that goes down and then wedges out to the squared off rear. I was very surprisedwith how good it looked in red!

IDk if I was driving a viper I would have killed the ss for fun too...atleast he didnt go after a honda or something..i mean some times when u want a race , ur not gonna find a vette, or high end supra, or h/c ls1 I mean sometimes you would take what ever you can find...good kill op
