Thats fine, your input is welcome, but I just don't want to get sidetracked arguing with you guys, when its pointless. It's not like we are going to race. You don't exactly live in the next town over. Btw, who are you guys putting your money on from the 40 roll? Just wondering.

The thread only gets sidetracked when you pay us any attention.
It'll still be close. The TC will help him some more. I'm biast towards the TA, too.

well with the yank 4000 it'll help sly alot but i don't know what gears he's running to determine how the converter willact loose tight whatever with his combo with a 3.42 or 3.73 he should walk the vette pretty decent. if he's running 2.73's still that would explain him getting pulled on the stock TC and i would say it'll be worse with this TC cuz it'll take forever to lock up. if they're 3.23 then well pretty even race i'd say. then again pay no attention to me i don't want to hijack :p

[quote] It will be close. I think if you race until around 110 or so the T/A might walk you down and pass you. Just my .02 [quote]
I think thats what he thinks too. The straightaway we first raced on from a 40 roll is good for about 90-100 mph, thats where he claims to start coming back. The straightaway I want to do it on this time from a 40 roll should be good for about 150 mph, but I don't think he'll do it. I want to give him plenty of room to "come back" and take my $100.

What I mean by that is, I don't think he'll do it because #1, most people won't race up to about 140-150, and #2, I am stating here in front of everyone that I will put $100 on a 40 roll up 150, so obviously I don't think he'll pass me. Nothing against sly, but if I was in his shoes, I wouldn't do it.

if i was in his shoes with his mods (depending on his gears) and with your car and your mods.. He is stupid not to take your money.. If he is an A4 and you want a roll dont do a 35 or 65 roll.. if he hits it right your dusted..

Josh,
Thanks for the input. Sounds like he has a pretty good top speed, but I'm pretty confident that on a 50 roll I'll pull him pretty easily to 140-150ish. He hasn't answered in a while, I guess he's out. If he does it, we'll be meeting in best food parking lot on patton, but we haven't specified a date yet. You should meet up too, since your local. Btw, do you know a guy named david king, he drives a silver SS up on patton, and has center mounted exhaust. I just haven't seen him in a while and had to ask him a question. I didn't know if he had a name on the forum or not.

Pretty interesting thread. What mods do you have again killervette. You may have said in the first post, but that was to much reading for me.lol
Sly has done alot to his car since your last race. That right there will probibly make the differnce.
The problem I see here, is where in the hell are you going to be able to safely run to 150 in Asheville?

Brian2001SS,
Your right, it was quite a while ago since we last raced. It was around november if I recall correctly. I understand he's done numerous things since then, I still hold my bet. Are you going to come to the race, if he does it? My mods are vararam ram air system, and slp loudmouth catback. As for the 150 thing, I can easily get 150 from a 40 roll on the interstate and slow back down in less than a mile. There aren't a lot of 6 speed FRC Z51's around and I think you guys are under estimating how well they respond to simple mods, and especially how lethal the top speed is.

hey guys just got home, I'm not afraid to race to 150 I have done it numerous times (safely of course). Since you want to run from a 40 roll, your sweet spot, my dead spot then we will do 2 things. Before the race I am going to record our cars, show under the hood of both and then record the race. From there the video will be posted here. Also one other thing if I'm going to give you your 40 roll for $100 then I think you should give me the decency of a run from a stop just for fun. Just to show you what the auto's are all about . Oh ya and if you haven't seen josh and I posted video's of us running from a 50 roll, and he has quite a bit more done than you do and he is an M6. Just to show you that the converter in an auto makes a world of a difference. If you win I'll hand over the $100 no problem, however I hope you know what your doing
