Default 98 Z28 vs SRT4 - Dig & 20 Roll

My buddy got tuned the other day and called me out, so I met up with him and knocked out a dig and 20 roll real quick. My beater is bone stock right now, the SRT4 is stock turbo with a built motor + bolt ons, tuned on E85 (nitrous coming soon)... should be around 330whp/390tq right now

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-mOr...&feature=feedf

This was his first time doing a dig so the launch was pretty horrible, but I plan to teach him a thing or 2 about launching FWD with power once he gets some 235/60/15 DRs and puts the spray on. Props to him for trying atleast!

Nice kills. He will have issues launching hard at full boost is going to be hard for him with out DR's or slicks. Also the low roll killed him again. He spun then too. 45 roll with him brake boosting should be a lot better race.

You can see the smoke off his tires from the dig and you can hear him spinning on the 20 roll real bad......LOL great video.

I had a SRT4 and still race a lot of other peoples SRT4s for them, I know exactly what they are capable of lol. If we switched drivers, I could probably stay dead even or within a car of my camaro through 1st gear, pull a little in 2nd, then be gone in 3rd...

He makes more HP/TQ in a lighter car so I was hoping he would light up the tires, and he did! lol

I might run a 500whp Caliber in a couple hours, hopefully he doesnt pass me before a 1/4... I'll post vids if we line it up

Same here, a few 500fwhp srt4s and one 620fwhp one. They are 60mph roll monsters also. I know of one caliber here in kc, that puts out around 320fwhp.

Had a friend with a big turbo Neon and that thing was deadly on the highway-killed many LS1s. Tough to launch for sure.

it's tricky trying to launch a neon that has decent power from a dig.

The stock turbo is maxed out as it is. Why would he go nitrous before a bigger turbo?

What now? He's going to spray it because the stocker is maxed out like you said. If he wants to make more power, and can't via the stock turbo, why not spray it? Not like the turbo will restrict it from making any power.

My friend sprayed a shot through a stock turbo and bottom end at 127,000 miles took it for a while but eventually popped. Timing was stock so that esplains it. Now has a built motor, hx40, and ems. Does work.

Yes, I would think the turbo would be a big restriction. I may be wrong though

What camera setup is that? If he can get that thing to hook and sprays it it'll do some damage.

he should have his boost lower in 1st so he doesnt spin as bad, mine set to 12psi in first because any more and it will just spin, second is when i hit 22psi

Thanks guys, the camera setup is a GoProHD. He is going spray before bug turbo because he is trying to be the fastest stock turbo SRT4 in the Miami/South Florida area (he will walk a lot of big turbo cars due to jumping out HARD). As far as traction, the most common race for cars he will be running is 20-50 rolls, so hooking from a dig isn't a real issue. Honestly the car will NEVER "hook" in first gear period. Once he orders the 235/60s I'll help him make it dead hook in 2nd and work on his technique for launching/1st gear.

He ran a 320whp/380tq neon and pulled him pretty good.

I understand going for the fastest stock turbo, thats what i was thinking he was doing. Yeah traction will always e a problem. I couldn't hook until 4th gear with Hoosier QTP. I was 2500lbs with 354whp/339ft/lbs on 15psi.
