Default Night at the Ave ...

.
I was without my nitrous, on street tires, and had a friend with me.

Bout 1 … Civic Hatch w/ B16 swap and “some other ****.”
Well, obviously it wasn’t enough “other ****” …. We went from around a 40mph roll, and he was walked all over … bus-lengths to 90mph.

Bout 2 … Low 12 second 5.0 stang (stopped to talk to the guy, long mod list, cool guy).
Round 1 - From a stop … spun through first and most of second pretty bad (damn sandy roads) and had about 2 cars on him by the end of third. Was impressed.
Round 2 - Second gear roll, around 20mph … hooked hard, and he was way back… at least 3 cars by the end of third.

Bout 3 … Supercharged LT1 Camaro (this was set up by the guy in the stang)
We went from a slow roll, and he got pulled HARD. I thought this was going to be the best race of the night, but he was slower then the 5.0 stang, I don’t know what was going on there. When I pulled up to him and asked him what boost he was running, he told me he didn’t have a supercharger … it was a squeaky belt (the supercharger was ridiculously obvious, and the stang guy told me he saw it) …. Why lie?

Bout 4 … Bright yellow 03 vette, Z06 heads and cam, a 100 shot of nitrous, street tires, and just the driver in the car.
Round 1 … 50mph or so roll, top top of 2nd gear (mistake) …. Slammed the gas, hooked good, rev-limiter (dohhh) …. Was about a half car ahead of him … he passed my by about a half car – a car through 3rd, race ended there.
Round 2 … Dead stop from a light. I jumped him pretty bad and was up about 2 cars … he slowly reeled me in and was ahead by about a car when we shutdown around 120mph.

Pulled into taco bell later that night and chatted with the kid … he was probably around 19 and also had a HUGE bronco, which he came in since the cops were looking for him … Would’ve been a good race if I had my juice too, but “run what ya brung.” It was too sandy and cold (28 degrees) to run nitrous though ... as the guy in the vette pointed out.

Bout 5 … SRT-4 Neon … kid was by himself, said he had some turbo work done to it (which was obvious by all the noise the turbo was making and the 3 a-pillar gauges)
Round 1 - Ran from a dead stop … pulled him pretty bad and had about 3-4 cars by 80.
Round 2 – Ran from a 30mph or so roll … he actually kept up and was only down by about a car or two to 90.

Other races of the night ….

A bunch of LS1’s, none really anything spectacular … the best was 2 ½ cars back from a 0-90 mph race.
A worked STI … a few cars back, ****** driver.
An old maxima turbo … what maxima?
A pesky new GT stang that kept getting destroyed, but would not leave me alone.

Btw ... does everyone like my new sig? It took me about an hour on photoshop to do it .... didn't come out exactly as I wanted it, but it's good enough for now.

Btw, the lightning and blue rain is all real ... weird weather here in NY.

Nice runs! Sounds like a fun night out on the town!

The LT1 guy probably said that because you beat him. Seems when you beat someone with mods they want to make it out like you beat up on a stock car and they're mad because they didn't bring enough to the plate and get embarassed.

Nice sig! If you want, I can make a couple for you, just send me a few pics.

Peace,
Craig.

That's an action packed night at the races. Sounds like fun. I'm sure the guy in the blown LT1 was a little embarrassed so he came up with the old squeaky belt trick. That works on ricers, not on us.

I noticed the sig last night. Looks good.

It sounded like the Z06 didn't spray because the ground was too cold to hook.

It was a regular C5 ... the guy said he had Z06 heads/cam (on a regular LS1 C5 vette, not a LS6 Z06) .... he did spray a 100 shot, but it was just too cold/sandy and he was spinning a bunch (until the later gears when he was able to get traction and start pulling on me). I actually lost both races to him. The one from a dig I was able to hold him off until around the end of third, while when we went from a roll he was able to pull me a little quicker.

I'm waiting for it to get a little warmer, and then rematch.

And I am not sure what the guy in the SRT4 had done ... car sounded pretty pissy whatever it was .... loud BOV and overall loud car. Unfortunately he was just some nerdy *** kid, who didn't even want to roll down his window after he lost.

I was actually thinking of your car when the 5.0 stang guy described it ... I thought I was going to get destroyed. Was pretty surprised when it went the other way, hard.

Milla ... apparently the yahoo pictures site I was using can't host the pictures, and that is why it was coming up as a link instead of an image.

Excellent action-packed night Phantom.
I would have thought that the "low 12's" stang would put up a better fight.

Well, he said he ran low 12's on slicks ... he was on street tires, as I was.

Oh yeah, if I had my juice it would've been a much different outcome. However, run what ya brung ... no excuses from me.

It was a good race and everyone has to lose now and then .... helps reignite the drive to moddddd.

Can't wait for her facelift in the spring.

Ah, the qualifier. No slicks puts him back up near 13.

Yeah, I was figuring he was prob a mid-high 12 second car without the slicks. That's the problem with those damn 5.0's ... u never know what you're getting into when you pull up next to one. Could be one of the doofs with the huge hoods, gauges everywhere, slicks and skinnies, and loud *** exhaust, that runs a low 14 .... or a perfectly stock looking one running 10's.

ug.

Nice kills man. I wish I could find that much action in one night. Next time you should have your friend bring a video camera and get some of those on tape.

I do like the sig. I love some of the ones that some of the other guys have. I just wish I was that talented to do it. Mine is just so simple. I do like bragging about what I do for work though.
