Got walked.....need mods.
I dont really care whether to mod it or not. It runs good for what it is and ive been busy remodelling my house and getting it ready to sell this fall so my wife and I can move to dallas. Ive wanted a c5 z06 for a long time and its starting to be financially feasable so im kinda at a crossroads of what to do. Ill figure it out sooner or later lol.
We have a Gen 1 Eclipse same way...He just made a 10.6 pass on street tires and got booted from track for no cage. That was his shake down pass. He went to make a full pass and they wouldn't let him run. He is replacing rods/pistons and turning up boost now. And adding cage if he has too.
I thought you were trying to keep that close to stock everytime I saw your sig. Nice car!
If your gonna mod...
Lts, ory or duals
stall no less than 3600
cai kit
drs
weight reduction if you care to.
I think that is a good start.

If I keep it it'll be getting ported 243's a texas speed 228r, a 3600 stall, and a 12 bolt.
Yeah, the only people I see driving TCs are either douchebag guys or girls. One of my best friends has a Celica GT-S, and every time we see a TC we joke about it cuz that car is the "new" Celica and it just now caught up to the old Celica.
The Celica used to actually be known as a rally car in the 80's and early 90's.
Then they turned it into another POS secretary car with a way too flashy exterior.
Then they ax it and replace it with a Lump with a pointless brand name.
The tC is basically a reskinned and youth oriented compact Toyota called an Avensis.
The engine is a run of the mill four banger that is shared with a dozen other Toyotas.
The car is a joke, even when compared to the lack luster US version of the Celica.

I would say that is one of the longest run-on sentences I've ever seen, but I'm not entirely sure it was a sentence.
To OP- Did your car downshift into 2nd in that race?
I bought a scion TC when they first came out, with the dealer-installed TRD supercharger. It still wasn't fast. It was a nice little commuter car though! Even supercharged it was slower than my bone-stock 2006 Tundra. Even with a turbo setup it's hard for me to imagine a TC walking away from you because it looks like still the stock 2.4 in that picture. However, if your car only went down to 3rd at 70, a lot of cars would get an early (and big) lead.

Do a heads/cam and you too will be seeing your tc friend in your mirror: (0:36 is the race where we lined up even and I went all out instead of playing with him like in the earlier runs. His brother is in my car, too)

As far as mods, I would hold off for a little bit. Idk your entire situation, but if you're thinking about getting the Z06, I'd keep this stock. That is, if you're going to sell the SS for the Z. I've seen all original LE cars go for higher than modded ones.
I have a buddy that's rebuilding his Galant VR-4. That thing is gonna be stupid fast when he's done.

Yeah, I've surprised more than a few folks in my galant vr-4 and from a start on the street, don't see much keeping up with it; least up to 80 or so and would be stupid to do that
But, if you're in the wrong gear, it's 4 cyl mode, lol.
OP, least it wasn't the box Scion and don't worry, there will always be faster cars out there, but I'd much rather be driving your car than a budget toyota or honda, for that matter, even if it ran 10's. I think it's cool people build something different, but driving a 'fast' fwd that was never meant to handle even 200 hp is asking for trouble, IMO.
But, know what you mean about how it feels. The other day on my way to work, I ran into a sleeper marauder with my V. I let him go first (come up on me) from a roll, but I couldn't really shake him (he didn't pull either). I thought the car had something wrong with it (those are low 15 sec cars), but did hear quite a whoosh coming from it, so thinking it had to been supercharged. Still, made me think wtf, ha ha...I mean, the V isn't the fastest car out there, but I know what it should and shouldn't do. On the other hand though, I've always been surprised at messing around with cars I thought would get me pretty good. Like this CLS63 AMG; talk about dead even from 0-70 or so (I let off). It happens...it's only a car. wouldn't worry about it and wouldn't waste $ on "mods" just because of that (I'm all for modifying, but if you're not gonna keep it or if those are rare, etc.)
