My buddy has a 4.3 v6 S10, its a 1998, and we raced my truck against his. from a roll about 55 mph a couple of times. His has the vortech supercharger for his truck and some bolt-ons. I have exhaust and 125 hp 325 ft lb edge juice chip.

The result each time was that he pulled me slowly, but I think he may have had more trouble with me from a stop. I'm pretty sure his truck is capable of some 13 second timeslips, so I was proud of my truck hanging as good as it did for only having two mods.

 

My good friend has the same exact truck as you but a 03 model he has the edge juice chip, banks exhaust, and volant air intake. We went to the track and he ran 14.2 at 99 mph. Traction was horrible, he has 18" nitto all terrains.
Well he upgraded the juice chip now it goes up to stage 5, he went and dynoed it sunday, it put out 860 rwtq at 2000rpm then the transmission would go into limp mode whatever that is, the guy who dynoed it said it had alot more in it, but that damn trans. He's getting a trans upgrade to solve that, by the way that was on a mustang dyno. Just to let you know he smoked a 04 for lighting from a roll sat. night. The bottom line is the Duramax is a bad *** engine.

 

I would have to agree
