No **** man, the car goes really good. I haven't lost any street races ever. But I've never really raced a car with the same power output. Mostly mustangs, everyone's got a mustang around here. Thanks for the moral support guys I needed reassurance

eh, just race a viper or a modded 03/04 cobra. that'll do it. oh and don't let unit hear ya talkin, he'll start talking about 6 second street mustangs and ****.

 

I'm not bragging at all, but I still haven't lost to a few cars that I should of. A stock cobra would probably be a good match for me, as long as he can drive. If he had an exhaust I think I could still stay with him least.

I have tons of friends with fox bodys. But none of them are past small heads and cam packages or bolt ons. Huge shortage of fast street cars up here in southern NH. It won't be just bolt ons for a month or so longer!

whats up man, I had a 99 ta which was moderately quick around 12.9-13.0. I sold that and now drive an evo. I have a turboback exhaust/no cat, safcII(air & fuel controller)Greddy profec B Spec II boost controller, CAI. I can tell you honestly that this car is faster than my ta was. I have no doubt about mid 12's this spring at track, we shall soon find out. As far as the topend in the evo, stock it is mediocre at best but once you tune the boost so it doesn't taper off and lean out the pig rich topend along with exhaust/downpipe/no cat, it pulls pretty damn good. You better get new tires and learn to drive very well, because if he can launch well and shift well you are in trouble. I know this is not what you want to hear but I am giving you an unbiased opinion of these cars. I love both and really miss my TA but I needed 4 doors and performance. Another thing is 1st and 2nd gear are triple synchro in the evo double on 3rd and 4th. Single in 5th. I am telling you this because if you are a good shifter in the evo you can go through thoses gears like a hot knife though butter, much faster than in an f-bod and that in itself can make all the difference. I ran across a heavily modded evo. I also have the PORSCHE TURBO. Beware, the car doesn't seem fast but if they're modded, the evo can smoke any car on the street. I ran across a fixed up evo on the street while in my turbo and this guy's car was almost as fast as mine. I was expecting to do a flyby on him like I do on every car everyday but couldn't do it on him. I immediately knew his car was modded. his speed almost matched mine... I hit the gas all the way and the turbos kicked in at full throttle but I was going only slightly faster than he... this was on 3rd gear. there was another car who was cheering on the porsche thinking it will easily smoke the evo but there was nothing i could really do. And 2nd and 3rd gear is where most of the porsche's power comes from. when we pulled over i asked if he had bigger turbos but he said no - he got head/cams and everything else. if you put head/cams on the evo along with some other mods, it will smoke any ls1, any v12, any car on the street. no joke man. and if he adds the bigger turbos, that'll be a 4 second car from 0-60. head/cams on an evo will gain respect from anyone on the street.

 

dont take those evo's lightly they are quick little bugers
a freind of mine has one, with the mods your friend had (still has the BOV though) he ran a mid to high 12, with a 100shot of nitrous he ran an 11.60
true their ugly, but their quick.

 

I think a few guys here run a bit faster than 4 seconds for 0-60. Good luck with the race BAD *** TA WS6.

you CAN take him on. I know this guy with an EVO 8 and he lost to a 996 carrera. My friend in an 01 camaro SS beat a 996 carrera. hehe... all of those cars can beat mine...
