Talking 1st worthy kill!

to put it in a nutshell, today coming home on 29 infront of lowes motor speedway streching the bird's legs after our snows finally melted, see one of my local mach 1's pop up cutting though a few cars. he has a shifter and exuast. he flys by me and then slows back down to beside me, then its on from about an 50mph roll. he gets a little bit of a jump on me until i get into 3rd then i gotta bout a half car length on him, hit fourth gear and by 110-115 gotta bouta 2 car lengths on him. very happy with my first 'big' kill. ordering lt's a off road y-pipe tommarow, so i'll widen that gap more.

Congrats! Did you talk to the guy or know him (shifter)?
The Machs are true Ls1 contenders.

Sweet kill, man. I haven't had the opportunity to run a mach yet but I here they're pretty quick, dynoing a little less than ls1's at the wheels. I love highway races, they require less skill and reward with more fun. Good job.

i'm good freinds with one of his mustang buddy's (the '97 saleen wannabe) so he tells me what all the rustangs have done. yeah shifter like a pro 5.0, although i dunno what brand his is

Nice kill The Mach's are great contenders and dyno ALMOST as much but don't they also weigt about 200 lbs. more?

I work with a guy who has an '03 supercharged Cobra. He won't run me. He did the numbers and knows he'd lose. Nothing like breaking the tires loose on the shift from 3rd to 4th to intimidate a guy.

breaking the tires loose w/ 313 rwhp from 3rd to 4th huh? sounds pretty rad

sould have shifted to 2nd at 50 and you would have completely blown him away

3.70 LSD and only 2,900 lbs. Mustang weighs 3,800 lbs. His 390 HP at flywheel & 3,800 lbs vs my 365 HP at flywheel & 2,900 lbs. Do the weight to HP ratio. 9.74 vs 7.95. What would make it even at this point is my very restrictive exhaust and narrower, non-sticky, street tires. The exhaust will get fixed in the next month and the tires shortly after that which will allow me to drop my times down into the low 12's (Z06 territory) with essentially a stock LS1.

damn the colonel would love to see those weights, most guys are like 3100 pounds wet with them inside.

was your car dry, and were you in it on that weigh in??

also all that 03 cobra has to do is put on a pulley and chip, and he will bust your *** all day long. do you have any thing to show this weight from the weigh in.

what all is gone from your car. cause it seems to me you are driving a shell

Just because I'm running an LS1 & T56 doesn't necessarily mean it's in an F-body. The certified truck scales at work weighed it in at 2830, 1400 on nose & 1430 on tail with 3/4 tank of gas but that was before I added the strut tower braces front and rear and the 4-pt. roll bar. The scales at Texas Motorplex weighed in at 3,085 with me on board.
OH - and all I have to do is add an ATI pro-charger and I'll own the MUstang -or even a 100 shot would do it. The engine is still bone stock. We can talk modifications on each side all the day long but the comparison was stock engine against stock engine.
