My SS ran a 14 because i couldnt get into second gear at high rev. I have to take a look at the hydrolics as the problem may be either the master cylinder or slave cylinder. The car runs strong for being a low compression set up as I put the 317 heads and 224r for a possible supercharge application. Obviously if i ran all motor i would of run 243/799 or ported 5.3l heads with larger valves.

It's not either. It's the clutch pp. If it were the hyd. it would either be leaking or it would do it @ idle also. You may be able to temporaily fix it by bleeding it (this resets the position of the hyd. release bearing) or shimming the hyd. release bearing (slave).

That's not true. Bad master/slave, worn shift fork, clutch pedal being out of adjustment and not fully engaging..are just a few that can cause these exact symptoms. I had the same issue with my '02 that we narrowed down to a bad 3-4 shift fork. Rebuilt the trans with a steel 3-4 and shifts smooth as butter at any rpm. My newphews '98 ended up being a bad master, and no they don't necessarily lock you out of gear at idle.

I was assumeing his trans shifted ok other than @ high rpm. I went threw all that thrash and reading **** on here....then I fixed the problem. It was not the hyd. Hell I still run the stock master. I do have a qtr master hyd. release bearing now, I had to go to that to get the proper height for the release bearing. But trust me it's the clutch or the clutch made the sycro's go out because of not releaseing properly.

both nice cars, if given the choice I would buy the cobra, just cause well its half the price, and I already have a z06, and I promised myself that a terminator was gonna be my next car.
