BFGs have similar life to the Toyo TQs, but hook better.

My two cents.

I've had BFG DR's and they were simply horrible. 555R's were better

I liked my 555Rs. I had several 1.78-1.79s on a 555r 275/50 and my best on a MT ET radial 325/50 is only a 1.77

They were great on the street even in the rain.

I believe you, but it never ceases to amaze me how people can get different results with the same tire.

I'm guessing this same thread but from the view of the 300C owner talking about being neck and neck to a Mach1 is on another forum talking about how fast his exhaust only 5.7 is! Lol good kill

I've only had one set, this was back 5 years when they first came out, and were 275s on 17" wheels. It was on my Procharged Cobra with 3.73 gears at the time. It would lay black marks through 2nd gear every time. We got the car up on a lift and noticed the rubber was basically rolling/melting off the tire in the direction of forward. Shop told me maybe the tires were too soft. I dunno other than it just wouldn't hook. Only bad thing I have to say about Nitto is how small their sizes run. The 315/35/17 fits like a normal 275.

I forgot to mention, a local guy with a TT Viper (think it makes like 1200rwhp) runs 345 NT05Rs and apparently they work pretty good. I wonder if they actually run true size with the NT05R.

My MT DR's have been good for 1.58 60ft's and so far I have about 15-20 passes with 4-6 sec burn outs at the track on them and also another 2400 miles on them.

I'm really thinking about just saying the hell with it and getting some MT's. I just don't want to get them, drive them regularly, and then have to replace them in 4 months. I don't do burnouts and rarely go to the track. I want some tires that I can launch on hard off the line on the street but last a decent bit.

I run Nittos on Supra,BFGs on Stang and Mts on Camaro

Nittos last longer and MTs hook the best for me. BFGs hook better than the Nittos for me. Nittos need a lot of heat to stick

Jesus man, I've said it over and over again, for the street there is no better tire for the money, and I've yet to see a better tire for the street PERIOD, then the star spec's. They run ALOT bigger then there numbers say also. And I got 22,000 miles out of my last set when they got to the wear bars. << they started noticeably losing traction around the 12,000 mile mark but still held well until the 20,000 mile mark.

I tried 555R's. My star spec's EASILY outgripped them and that's when I had 20,000 miles on the star specs. The 555R's are on my front rims now lol.

I've also yet to have a ET Street equipped car do any more than stay with me on the street: and thats with a great driver.

If I hadn't just dropped all the dough on my motor build I'd do what I've done with other guys: offer up $100 towards the purchase price of a set of star specs. Hit me up in a month if you haven't decided and I'll do it. They are that good.
