Killed a C6 Z
I would have to disagree about the statement that a 911 is a better car ... fit and finish ok .... that fine ... but in the track ... naa.. I just got back from the ls fest and I saw some c5 z s just killing the auto cross **** ... they are the best car for the money hands down.... that little ls6 is still a gem after ten years, they run great. ls6 with long tubes, h/c fast 90 good tune will give any euro trash a dam good run for the money, plus kill any new 5.0 with same mods.

First C6 Z I walked away from, same ****......he was just a snobby *****. He was in front of me getting on the highway, as soon as I had room to get over onto the highway I did and we both nailed it at the same time from about 35 mph up to about 140mph, he was a few cars behind me when I let off. Lots of Vette guys are like that because they think they're in some kind of real super-car, and its just another American made car. I think he was extra embarrassed though because I started out 1 car length back......
Its the guys with TRUE exotic cars that I find give me props and want to chat after getting beat.

I never have posted in SR&K, but after reading this felt a bit compelled to do so....
I was on Hwy 90 coming back from a crew change last year in a 2000 Trans Am I had. All I had done to it was an SLP lid and a Magnaflow CB. It sounded decent, and the black paint was absolutely flawless....
Anyways, I always set my cruise a few over the limit, which was 70. Like the OP, I had a black C6Z coming up hard and fast. I thought, ok cool, that's a bad *** car. The guy gets right beside me and starts toying with me. I rolled the window down so he could see me (tint) smiled and waved my hand in front of my throat as to say, "No way, my car LOOKS nice, but it's not fast, you're in another league than I am"
The guy smirked (mid 20's?) and proceeded to just absolutely blow my doors off. I tried to give him props and say no way, there's no point.
I just don't get the mentality with the NEW C6 owners. The guys that came up through the ranks are cool as **** though. But the new guys..... They leave a lot to be desired in the "class" department.
