That launch the camaro did was probably a 1.6 to 1.7 60' time. On the street. Trust me, as someone who has filmed and been filmed alot launching on the street, that camaro was only a tick off the best possible launch he could have done on a unprepped street.
The DSM was just that much quicker.

Ouch, that was a well built DSM.
DSM sounded auto, so thousands of times before any issues. There are mid-low 8 second auto DSMs with hundreds of passes on their stock T-cases and axles (Jesse Abel and Jeff Bush).
With a manual tranny and slicks DSMs break stuff in the 10s, but it's due to wheel hop and driveline lash. The autos are very solid running 9s on mostly stock stuff.

That said i'm sure he's broken a few of them. A little wheel hop is all it really takes when you're making 1000+hp.

Whatever that means with all the spinning.
It wasn't prepped. A "famous" street racer died running his very fast car on the street, spinning and losing control once rolling. It was reported in AutoWeek.
Virtually no such thing as a prepped street, just a prepped launch area (which this didn't seem to be).
