Mine were all high flow cats that I ended up gutting. I have to have cats in missouri for inspection. I saw half second gains in the quarter with an auto trans. Just saying these ls motors love to breathe. Could be something to take into consideration on this race along with weight, etc...

OK I will take your word on that.
either way it was fun. Hopefully casey(ls2 driver) will race some other fast cars, so he can show it wasn't a fluke.

i used that local car as an example. i'd guess 430 on the low side and expect a near-new corvette with "full bolt-ons" to dyno more. obviously you know what you're doing, just trying to figure out why the races were so close when it appears they shouldn't have been.
what is the gearing difference in these cars? it seems like the gs was shifting while the ls2 car was pulling.

Yea the cars have to be geared differently, we both have the same gear in the rear end but I think his tranny is geared different.
This is the second ls3 car I have raced and I beat him as well, and it was side by side so but I won by a half a finder.

Great races guys! Always interesting when the race doesn't go the way it should on paper.
Those seem like huge gains going from high flow cats to straight pipes. My Z28 went from 424 rwhp to 432 rwhp by ditching the high flow cats. Are you sure weather didn't affect the gains?

It was one week difference. about same temp. I had similar results with another car of mine but not quite as much (.3) They were magnaflow if I remember correctly. sixty foot was the same. I had numerous people at the track tell me to do this with a large cam or large displacement motor.

Lol, it'll be a few years before that goes into my garage
Actually in hind sight, parents are moving 2-1/2 hours away soon versus the current 45 minute commute to my car, so being in the Greek system in college I'm soon to be without a garage to use

seems to me if there is only 30-40 rwhp difference and the GS wieghing 200 lbs more because of passengers/more gas ect the outcome seems to make sense.
esp considering from 1-2 gallons of gas to a full tank can be nearly a 100lbs
