I was just thinking about something . I remember when I bought my first ss new in 98 it was a 99 tho. it's been a long time since I have driven a stock 4th gen. when the ls 4th gen cars were new they ran good considering they ran pig rich and the timing was not crazy hot. they came that way from the plant.
the mustang has headers right out of the gate I'm sure the AF is less fat to. take an ls 4th gen and get her tuned in put long tubes and a good flowmaster or magna flow ect..... fix that lid and we may have a nice race. now the million dollar question is this......... if you had a fox body stang that was set up to take an LS3 or the coyote what engine would you have. I know I would have the big Ls hands down. the fith gen is not that far behind the 5.0 it traps the same in a car that is 400 lbs more

If I had a old Fox I would use a 5.0. Its just a brand thing. If I had a old Camaro I would use the LS3.
Not sure where you get the are trapping the same though. Camaro's are trapping 108-110 and mustangs around 111-114. That of course is with drivers and track prep equal. Either can effect both those.

A few years ago; if it were between the N/A 4.6 and the LS3 as my only two options...I would pick the LS3. Now with the potential of the 5.0; I'll take the 5.0.

The tune is not that great on the 5.0s. They are gaining around 20whp with just a tune. Also the headers are pretty good but with LT's they are still picking up 20-25whp. So who fault is it that the Ford used better headers then Gm from the start?

I actually saw a Pete Rose here in Burbank Ca, red one, old dude driving it and seemed like a stick shift. I couldnt figure out if he did that to it or what. Your post explains it now.

Someone just went though all of the trouble putting a eaton on a cobra engine, putting a t56 behind it and selling the cluster, harness, hvac box, heat exchanger out of a 03 cobra and sold it for $10k.
... and did i mention it has an iron block also.

Well im the owner of the notch. It takes an idiot to think that its not a cobra swap. but ohio im sure ur a member of modular fords and a member of that site is where it came from! look them up on ebay thats where he sells them from and at any given time you can see 2 or 3 wrecked 03-04s in the background. Mine had a video of it running in the 03 that was tboned! Your more then welcome to come see the forged internals and have a nice look at its taillights and rear bumper this coming spring!
