we are trying to judge cars by their drivers. i have yet to run into a full weight, full bolt on LS1. the full weight (some) bolts on LS1's havent been close yet i've run into.
a few hundred pounds counts for a hell of a lot in a race of equally good drivers. for example, i simply cannot powershift my 2011GT with 285/35-19 hankook EVO12's in at 1-2 or 2-3 at 7k without them blowing off. 3-4 spins them and the car gets a little sideways but i can stay in it.
racing a stock 5.0 should be a win for the LS car. if there was no way to tune a 2011GT i would never buy one. i hate the stock program that bad.

I ran my car hot bone stock minus tires. Never trapped below 113. Best trap was 115. All runs was 12.1-12.4. SO yoru bolt on M6 car still was behind my stock 3.73 5.0.
A stock Fbody is no match for a stock 5.0. Its simple facts. If you have a driver that is just retarded sure anything can happen. I will agree that a M6 would have been a better race but it would most still have lost drivers equal.
On my way back from FL since you are down south feel free to meet me. I will show you how slow your car is. I mean you should have no issue with a 5.0 they are all duds right.

I sat there and watched 2 m6 fbodies with the exact mods mentioned run consistent 108mph (untuned, heavier car) and 110mph (mail order tuned, lighter z28) to the 5.0s consistent 110-111mph same day, same track. My turd was trapping 110 and change the same day for whatever reason.
At the track in Tulsa you should be able to add a mph or 2 to each car based on the results I've seen from cars that run both places, Mo Kan runs slow for some reason.
It would be a great race between the m6 fbody you spec'ed out and a stock 5.0 from all accounts I've seen in person with competent drivers. If the mustang has 3.73 gears I would give it a small fraction of an edge.

Now it weighs in around 3550 now with me in it. I am 210lbs. And come next week should weigh in around 3450 or so with me in it. And still look like it was made that way form the factory.
Just like some others on here I removed stuff that no one can tell. Only thing you notice is the back seats are deleted with a seat deleted kit. Which really only lost about 25lbs total.
To note best pass on my car was this past weekend. It went 11.47@119 1.56 60ft with my tuner dialing in some more. Playing with the TQ management. Him driving and he is a little better driver then me and weighs about 25lbs lighter then me. DA was around 1600-1700. Basically did this to see what coudl get out of it before it comes apart.

You take away the 2-3 car jump the 5.0 had from the downshift of the auto and it gets pretty close. I'm not saying the auto ls1 shoulg win, but if driven properly it would be close. By the vid the ls1 had stopped it's pull up top.

I agree it would have been a much closer race but i don't think the pull was stopped maybe slowed to a crawl but not stopped.

It was 65 that night..right now still 100..
On a side note. I will be helping mod a WS6. Wife's boss just bought a 02 WS6 with only 12,000 miles on it. He paid 11k for it. It is bone stock. He said he wants to make it fast. He is a GM for the Chevy dealer. My wife works at a Chevy dealer and I drive a Ford and she drives a Toyota..haha.
