He forgot to turn of his traction control for one. The other thing that got him was that it was his first pass ever on a track, so he was a bit nervous. He managed a 2.2 on his second pass, still pretty bad, but he'll get better over time. His car is definitely faster than mine in every way, but I have the driver mod for now, lol.

A few fair points here but some of you are acting as if it started out unfair in the first place.
The Mustang is giving up 65 cubic inches and 0.26 compression per cylinder. Hows the blower unfair? Its a 4.6L 9.24:1 motor next to a 5.7L 10.0:1 motor.
If that motor was a ticking time bomb it wouldnt still be around for 16k miles. Popcorn doesnt take a year and 16K miles to pop. Thats being totally over-done. Some guys last for years at 10-12 PSI and some blow in months off of 8 PSI what it comes down to is a good tune and not doing no-nos. A lot of guys who blow up arent honest about what they have done or are clearly doing no-nos. Such as this.

The guy is running long-tubes on a KB chip tune. You can't do that. And then everybody sees videos like this and thinks every single 4.6L is doomed under boost. Wrong.
As far as 2Vs being sad I don't see anything sad about that LS1 getting walked at 110-130MPH. Especially considering the 1/4TH the SS pulled. Think about what it takes for the stang to continue to pull at that speed. Nothing glorious about 2Vs that for sure but the only difference between that GT and a Cobra is 4V heads and forged pistons/connecting rods power-train wise.
The Mustang still has stock heads, stock cams, stock throttle body, stock rotating assembly, stock exhaust manifolds, stock rear end and a stock transmission so by LSx standards that "pretty much stock" 2V did really well against that "pretty much stock" LS1. The blower can still throw down another 6 PSI by itself(16 PSI). What do you think happens when he throws on cams and head work?
Feel free to try to launch an auto mustang with a stock converter that makes 410+RWTQ by 3k RPMS on street tires, let alone on your first two attempts down the track as bad as 2.3FT is. Then again I have a feeling LSx doesn't have the problem of having real torque down that low.

Oh and BTW I don't see how in the hell you could consider the Mustang to be a "pretty stock 2v" when you change it from a N/A application to forced induction.

Let me just touch on what jumped out at me Iliac
Never said the blower was unfair.
I actually gave the guy props and congrats for doing so well and bringing his car so far. He skipped bolt-ons, which was smart.
Do you really want to talk which is better mod for mod? I have a tune, he has a KB pushing 10lbs... a tiny LS6 cam wold put us even, lol
Launching 400rwhp on street tires, get for real, I have pulled plenty of sub 2.0s on stock stalls, several 1.8s in my GTO.

its very dissapointing to see a car get FI and not really show much for it. then again its alot like the supercharged roushes that underperform. poor guy will get embarassed if he rolls up next to a 5.0 at the dragstrip and the 5.0 has any idea how to drive

Stop with the ricer whining about your tiny ******* engine. You sound like the Japanese business men in the Chimpokemon episode of South Park. "oh you American have biiiig *****, we have such tiny *****"
A 10# boosted v8 not destroying a near stock automatic ls1 from a roll is pathetic and quite sad.
He doesn't even have a ******* converter for ****'s sake.

i think you are confused... he wasnt pulling that hard lol. i bet the stang doesnt trap but maybe 110-111 based on the footage. id bet money my TA would have raped him and it only had intake, tune, headers, exhaust. ran well 2.01 60ft 12.7@110 600 DA.

that is not good topend at all for a FI v8 engine. like someone else said a small cam will get a ls1 a better trap than what he is pulling. the new 5.0 can trap up 117mph with great DA conditions and on average around 114 mph. like alot of others have said. that guy wasted money modding that engine. saved the money spent and waited for a good deal on a 03-04 cobra he would have been 10x happier

This summer me full bolt ons and him same set up. I ran 11.80@118 he ran constant 12.3-12.4@108. Same track same time both with shitty 3200 DA.
He wants to get rid of it and get a 5.0. But as he stated he has to much money wrapped up in it and it is paid off.

AWESOME i guessed those trap speeds before i even seen those videos of the drag race runs.. im high fiving myself for guessing almost exact what his trap speeds would be haha.

Really all just depends on the 2v. Some boosted 2v's trap 108, some trap in the high teens. Hangwire (the owner of the KB GT in this thread) is still running stock stall and stock gears... His trap of 112mph isn't bad considering. From the get go its a big disadvantage for 2v's. You are talking about a 108mph vs a 99mph car stock for stock. Mod for mod LS1 Wins, stock for stock LS1 wins. I am not sure why its brought up. Its pretty much a guarantee that you are going to need boost to compete with an LS1. Sad, but true.

Not really... I think it is fairly obvious that I don't buy cars based on what they can beat in a race. My old GT was a fun car, and adding ~150rwhp more and adding steeper gears would only help that.
