He has put almost 70k in miles on since he bought it 2008. He beats the **** out this car on a daily basis, and it has only had an issue with a front wheel bearing. heres a few links to numerous complaints about the altima's faultly hydraulics. most of the complaints are from SE-r owners.

here's one guy even trying to start a class action lawsuit against Nissan regarding faulty hydraulics:

My mistake. I was thinking about the SR, which made 270hp from 07 to present.
I didn't realize they dropped the "E-" in 2007. Same difference....

They're both the top trim level for their respective generations and they're one letter apart.
But if you want to be that way....

Actually the SE-R was a limited production special edition car, only about 5000 units each year I believe. The SE-R came with either a 6spd mt or 5spd auto(same options as a 350z and g35), the later 3.5sr comes with a 5spd mt or a crappy cvt. The SE-R comes with "race" style seats, 350z dash gauge pod, nismo style exhaust and sport tuned suspension. The 3.5sr didnt come with any of that.

my girl has an 05 altima 3.5 SE with a 5spd (different tranny, same hydraulics) and we spent $1400 replacing the clutch twice, master and slave cylinder.
For that money, why wouldn't you put in a Spec clutch? Or another performance clutch for that matter... just a question?
