What's stopping the Evo from throwing on nitrous as well?

...It's just as easy as installing it on the Corvette...

See what happens when you bring up what-ifs?

Even if the rice adds a shot i still would take the bigger displacement anyday of the week. Z can just pill up . Its still a evo anyway you look at it .

Nice runs, man. What size turbo is that on the Evo? What size is stock?

A car with headers vs a car with upgraded factory turbo, bolt ons, cams, up'd boost to **** my buddies running 30psi on his and e85 tuned. Id hope after all those mods he'd beat a untuned vette with headers. Just saying that's alot of stuff to beat a bolt on car. My point.

And I'd take the AWD any day of the week...to each their own.

I think you underestimate the importance of turbo size...those supporting mods can support 600+whp with a larger turbo.

What do you mean by "size"?

The Evo 9 turbo, if maxed out, can support 450whp. Generally 350-400whp is the norm.

The IX turbo flows 41lbs/min. It's barely bigger than the stock EVO VIII turbo.

It's "you're", not 'your'.

Those EVOs can be nasty when in the right hands and the Vette still has alot of potential. Subscribed, I like where this thread is going.

They are both fast cars and Evo won just as simple as that. Does the vette have room to keep up if not beat it, ofcourse and so does the evo and so on and so on. Its a debate that will go for pages no point in talking about anything else other then what they both brought to the specific race at hand.

I'm not sure if you are talking to me, but I am not at all. Its a clean car and a good friend of mine....

The last thing I care about is Import vs Domestic, Ford vs Chevy or any of that ignorant argument bullshit. I just like a well put together car...just turns out that his is faster than mine.

Side note, I ******* hate losing and am going to fix that problem

The point he was trying to make - or at least the point I'M trying to make - is that a C5 Z06 is not in any way imaginable a inferior platform to mod versus a Evo. Or are you saying a evo is a better platform?

I'm not saying one is a better platform than the other...they each have their strengths.

Just saying that it's fairly pointless to hypothesize about future potential mods.

Personally, I prefer the flexibility of AWD and the feeling/sound of a turbo. I don't really care for nitrous...too often the guy who simply bought the bigger shot will win...unless the bottle's empty...then what? Same with AWD vs slicks...I'd rather not have to worry about changing my tire every time I want to race.

That's just me and my preference; I can respect the other viewpoints.

No, not talking about you. I was referring to the guy who started going down the hypothetical "if the z06 had XYZ" road. That's an endless argument. Both are great platforms capable of enormous power/speed.

Wow holy but hurt. My point was simple. Why are you guy's getting so rowdy about an Evo running at full potential and a c5 with 2 mods and untuned. That's it My buddies evo8 with bolt ons e85 30psi evo9 turbo ran an 11.7. Basically if i was OP id be VERY happy.

I don't think anyone's butt hurt...I was just saying that mods and their effects are quite different on an Evo than a Corvette.

An Evo's power is based entirely around the turbo...it doesn't matter if there are a hundred mods done to the engine, if the turbo can't flow enough air, it's not gonna matter. The supporting mods on this Evo would be enough to max out the bottom end (a reliable 500, maybe 550whp) with a properly sized turbo.

Right now on this particular Evo, the turbo is the choke point...it's hardly at "full potential".

Okay... i don't really consider longtube's and untuned to be a vette at "full potential" again OP's car should've lost. Id be very happy if i hung with an evo that is capable of running 11's with a c5 with just 2 mods and not even tuned. Is the EVO your car?
